| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
One more from the Rhenen Zoo, I feel this is apposite to my previous posts in a way. As you probably know this week is Refugee Week here in the UK and yesterday was World Refugee Day.
Some people raise there "metaphorical" spines/spikes when speaking about Refugees, things like "they shouldn't be here", "Why are we spending our money on these people", both of these statements made to me today by supposedly intelligent people.
In the UK the Government allows, at today's exchange rate, the equivalent of £5.00; $9.96 or 7.4 Euros, per day to live on, to buy food and to buy clothes.
Before any of us gets defensive and raise our "Spikes", let us be thankful that we, at least, can enjoy the lifestyles and protection of our respective Governments, there are some that do not have that luxury. |

Hi Chris,
Wouldn't it be great if you could singe-handedly change all the wrongs? Do what you can to contribute, but also take care of yourself, otherwise you are not in a position to help any longer.
Spikes indeed - a wonderful capture and I can not tell one end from the other. Lovely colours.
