Hi Alex,
Those wooden skates are called "friese doorlopers" I learned skating with them. Then when I turned 16 I got a modern pair, which was much more convenient because the shoe is attached to it.

Your have chosen a fantastic subject for this post. The aged designed skates are looking fantastic. Probably wood was used mostely for such stuff before place came into vogue. A beautiful composition my friend, well done.

This is indeed a very typical dutch theme ! After the Effel tower in Paris (^_^) , you certainly like to post landmarks and traditional subjects.

But , do not get me wrong, they are very well presented. Did you meet any TL members , or see any TL members in the streets of Deft (^_^).

Lovely shot of the unusual Dutch curios. We bought two pairs of Klompen, the same as the yellow ones bottom right, when we visited Amsterdam some years back.
Your pic brings back nice memories for my wife and I.
