[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
So... there they were... Vandana, Vassilis and his lovely wife Tanya, John Tulip, the Great Green One, Els and Ad... and Pepe.
And the whole bunch was out there to visit the Batavia Warf in Lelystad and we had a real nice time and it was very nice to meet all of them. Apart from Hans I didn't know any of them yet...

Now... I pass this ship every time we go visit our relatives in Almere and time after time I tell Rob, that I will go visit that ship one day...
So... on the 11th of this month it was finally happening.

There is such a lot of history on ships like this...
well, on the old ones. The real ones.
I guess you have heard and read quite a bit of that by now, because Hans, John and Els have been posting pictures of it. I won't bother you with more history lessons.

I just wanna tell you that this is a panorama picture, made from 3 pics.
If you look real close, you can see The Baron in the lower left corner taking pics of the details of the ship.

Other than the "stitching" there is no PP work done here.. oh yes.. I cloned out a yellow container near Hans.

Hi Anneke,

Beautiful picture with great detail . .

Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie (VOC) . . it reminds me an old building at the Batavia (now Jakarta) port few weeks ago . . This title VOC on the port entrance and office still there for keeping history . . and near the building there is a cafe 'Batavia' . .

Van een leuke hoek geschoten. Met knappe kleuren al vind ik het schip wel een beetje "te" vermits ik het graag simpel hou. Hopelijk laat je nog wat meer schepen zien, vind ik wel fijn.

Great catch - I was having quite a bit of troube, because I could not get it in 1 picture - so I see there is quite a lot of work involved to present it like this - but hey, the result is very worth while.

'Rust' is een beetje weer gekeerd.. De Grieken belden gister avond met de 'goed thuis gekomen ' boodschap en Vandana gaat morgen.. ze zit aan de andere computer te werken hier.
Het was een zeer druk maar gezellig weekje :-)

Hoi Anneke,
Ik dacht ik ga eens even door de theme scrollen van de Lowlands meet. Deze viel me gelijk op. Je lage POV en de volle compositie heeft de boot erg imposant gemaakt. De klasieke lucht past erg goed bij deze oude stijl boot. Super werk mbt je stitch. de kleuren en scherpte zijn erg mooi. Jammer dat die Hans alweer in de foto moest staan. :)

Mooie plaat geworden. Je ziet niks van het stitchen.
Erg mooi schip, maar het lijkt ook wel wat op een drijvende thee-muts.
Zeer goed vastgelegd, mooie kleuren, scherpte en helderheid.
