[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Some 10 years ago I made this picture through a microscope. I've put some effort in this one: an old 2nd hand microscope + an old 2nd hand camera (...but what a camera, a Canon F1 woh, still use it today) + a self made flash + a self made tripod enabled me to take this image. It shows crystals formed during drying on a glass plate.
The black background and the colors are formed by putting two pieces of polarisation foil in the light path.
Had a hard time justifying the presence of this picture on TL, but after all.... it's a real subject, telling us about the beauty of nature :) only a bit small perhaps.

I do not see any problem to justify that kind of photo on TL.I find it very creative and original! It is also artistic and well realized! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Somewhat symbolic. I don't know why but it reminds me of 'the flight of Icarus'. Shattered and all jumbled up in the end.

Fantastic shot...You don't have to justify any photo on TL as far as I know this is the only site where photographers can be just that, without do's and don'ts to constrain them...this shot is phenomenal, something one doesn't see everyday ...excellent post TFS!

Nice abstract. It looks to me as a mish mash of crows. To me, the crystals have a feeling of feathers. Read your note. Good to see someone experimenting out there. Well done! And Welcome to TL!
