Fantastic shot, I've tried similar and know how hard the timing and composition of these shots can be. Shame the gull is a bit blurry, I'm guessing 1/250 wasn't quite quick enough to freeze him... maybe flash or higher ISO might have done the trick here. I don't think it's dof here that is the culprit? Your Nikon has captured some wonderful colours, and the blue sleeve works nicely. Also a shame about the headless bird in the background, but the foreground gull makes up for it.

you know what, that would of been a great great shot is the bird was in phocus. I love the colors in that photo and its a great idea.

Woua! Almost agressive the gull! She is not in focus... but i suppose this is very hard! Great one! Tell me... Did you feed from one hand... and take picture from the other?
If you try agan the experience.. Perhaps the fill flash could help? Very impressive!
