[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It has been more then a month since my last upload. I have been too busy which made it very difficult for me to find time to give critique or upload a new photo. But, all is well again and I can finally return to this wonderful site.

Just recently I have found my tree. Meaning a tree that is a perfect subject for sunset photography. It stands all alone and on top of a hill. his leaves me with a clean view toward the tree and with a perfect backdrop. Now I still need to figure out the period the sun will set behind it. I think that the sun will set too much to the right in late spring and summer.

Anyway, this tree stands in the National Park De Sallandse Heuvelrug. An area know for its hills and heather, but also for beeing one of the last place where Black Grouse can be found.

Inderdaad had ik al een tijdje niets van je gehoord/gezien.
Maar met deze foto maak je alles weer goed. Mooie lichtval en kleur.
Zijn dat nou vliegtuigstrepen daar links bij de horizon ??

Very beautiful shot here. Perfect POV and rule of thirds in my opinion. Lovely colors, nicely framed to accent the picture without distracting from the picture itself. Great capture and welcome back!

Hello Niek,a lovely subtly coloured sunset.The tree is perfect for this type of shot.It is interesting that you are trying to work out the position of the sun for future shots.
I like the way that the clouds become darker;and I like the layers of the landscape with the trees in the distance.

Beautiful shot. Great comp & colors. Very peaceful feeling.

Even werd ik getrokken door de Fog on the Loch, maar dit is een stunner.
Niek dit is inderdaad DE boom als je mooie avondluchten wilt fotograferen.
Puur genieten - kan geen aanmerking maken - je hoeft niet te zwaaien ^-^.

Ik hou van de silhouettes van bladerloze bomen in de winter... dus bij uitbreiding ook van deze foto. De rode lijn onderaan stoort een klein beetje, maar da's een detail.

Yes, I think you have found a very interesting tree for sunset-shootings! Although it is not one of my fav ( I prefer trees with a round shape) you have managed a fantastic setting here! Those fluffy clouds harmonize very good with the slightly 'foggy' background. Between those 'darker' parts the light sky in the far - very nice :)

This looks like a painting. The tree, the distant horizon, the colours, are all in harmony with each other. Great photo.

Before our communications of yesterday Niek I was actually going to comment on your Norway image, the noticed this one. Strange how some trees seem to make the scene as this one has. Lovely pastel colours, a good diagonal and beautiful detail in that tree. Nicely done,

Oh yes, it is a very photogenic tree. The silhouette is awesome against that lovely pink / orange sky Niek. The clouds are perfectly placed too.
You'll have to go back again at different seasons.
