I arrived at Amsterdam Schiphol airport from Scandinavia that day 5 hours ahead of my connecting flight to Montreal.I had too much time on my hand so decided to kill away some of the remaining time by walking in and around the terminal for photos opportunities! I picked this one out of the bunch for this Friday's Flight Theme. It was taken a few minutes before our departure at the boarding gate.I was seated behind this couple 2 benches away, after a short while 'spying' on them i decided to capture this very moment probably the one conveying best the moody ambiance and state of mind they were in during their long wait...in anticipation of flight 0671 .
Was a pleasant flight home .

hi carol.
perfect pov letting us see just a bit of the man's face profile - will have to imagine what the woman looks like and interesting passive attitude of both subjects waiting.
also good dof contribution for the story.
congrats, a special image imo.

I'm at an airport right now and really appreciate the way you show the intrinsic boredom that airports have. You have to wait, to get into a small crammed space, and some shorter or longer time, arrive ro another airport and the "voilá" yo u have arrived to your final destination.

I like the b&W treatment aof the image, the tails of the planes at the background and the siluettes of the waiting people.

congtatulations !

HI Carol
I am surprise that they let you use your camera inside the airport what with the strict rules since 911, but it seems there was no problem.
You did get a good shot the silhouettes look good with your dof

Hi Carol,
Glad to know you had a good flight back to Montreal, unless the delay. You show here a fine B&W picture of how to sent your tie on a delay.
Great contrast, excellent prensention in B&W.

Hi Carol,
Very imaginative imgae with wonderful clearity and sharpness. The b&w treatment fits the somber mood.

Hello Carol ,

Moody indeed . I love the zom on this couple with the tight framing of the tails of the planes. Great oberservation and presentation.

Too bad , you did not knew Hans before..... You could have met him right there !

Cheers!

This is a great one, b&w suits the mood :) I hate these airport waits! I like the way they're sitting. Very well done. TFS

Very good and strong composition Carol, godd chhoise of BW.
The text in the frame is a bid""screaming"",but well ..a matter of taste.

Hi Carol,

What a thought provoking shot. I really like it. One doesn't know what's going through their thoughts.

I love the black and white. I don't think that color would evoke the same mood. I do like how the man is in profile showing his glasses.

Nice addition to the theme. Lisa

Hello Carol

excellent shot here, nicely composed image with good detail and a good choice of B/W. I like the way you used the theme title here too a nice variation.

TFS and for joining in the theme

Kind regards Helen

Hello Carol
Great mood.I like B/W shot of yours.
Well composed and balanced.
Congrats

Hmmm, and this one makes me feel ... "soon I have to get on that plane, and I know how I'm going to feel..." I'll rather sit in the boarding lounge as long as I can:)

Great observation Carol, and a great way to kill five hours of waiting. Great choice to post in B&W.
