Imagine uploading a picture to share a frame.

I needed a way to finish some older pictures, when I remembered having received Harpya's picture as a child, and that one had a lovely border, so I cropped a small part and pasted it several times on a white frame surrounding this picture of Sloten, that very small town I already shared in the theme 2 wheels.

It's getting too dark outside to capture the wood pigeons making love high up in the tree, but I will be on the look out tomorrow and just maybe I can report back to you on that couple.

I will put that cute Sergio in the WS.

Have a nice week,
Els

Hello Els,

You have created a wonderful 'old' postcard here! The border is superb!
Good pov and the railings create good f/g interest.
Good leading line, right through the tunnel and eventually reaching the all important spire!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Els: Beautiful presentation and work with PP.I really love to look at good old photos as records of times gone by, like water flowing in a canal and under a bridge. The work here on the frame is exemplary, I kinda look forward to new pics from you to see what surprise you bring....Thanks Els for another gem......Roman:0)

Hi Els, lovely PP work and the frame has accentuated the image nicely. A good conversion technique and fine textures. TFS,
David

Hi Els
Just got back and it was a nice surprise to see this antique foto. Lovely POV that allows the reflections in the river, and the metal rail in the foreground is a beautiful side detail. I like that it is sharp and the sepia tone is very attractive

Hi Els,

I had to think of the little town of Balk, since I've been there before some times and it looks a bit similar. But as far as I know, it's not part of the 11 city journey. I'm not even sure if Balk has city rights... ;-)

Groeten! Dennis

What a wonderful way to treat this lovley image, Els. It could indeed been taken long ago. I like the rail in the foreground and the way the canal leads off to the bridge. I so enjoy all the wonderful places around the world, that one day I might see myself. Excellent.
Warm regards
Wanda

This photo does look like an oldie with the right amount of sepia. The frame does add to it.
Super capture and pp work

Hallo Els
Voor mij goed herkenbaar vanwege de Elfstedentochten die ik heb geschaatst.
Mooie nostalgische foto.

Knap zeg !
Het ziet er inderdaad oer-oud uit. Mooi ook die barsten in het doek.

Hello Els

Beautiful postcard.
he portrays a time well like this of 1930
already with the picture losing the colors, fading
with the action of the time.
Me love you to have a beautiful creativity
and to look for the borders of my picture
old, it was perfect, a good union.
Beautiful look of the channel, of the frame and work!
Thank you very much!!! Kisses....

Hello Els
What wonderful PP work.. I really like how you made the old frame then framed it again.. Nice idea! Love the look of the river! I love that we can share places I will never see in real life. Thank you for that!

Tricia

Thanks for the nice wishes yesterday.. today will be a tad calmer with only gardening to get finished. AND the last of the fall leaves to be bagged !!!!! But here I sit on TL!

I'm looking beyond the PP work here, Els, and I like the compo and the town itself. The mono-tone works nicely. I don't like the cracks you added, though... they just look too fake for me.
A thing you didn't do, apparently, is add additional grain with the noise tool. Grain imo is inherent with "old" shots, so I miss that here.
As for the frame: I remember the way prints were delivered in the sixties and before: with an irregularly "jagged" edge. If it's that what you wanted to make, I think it was a wrong choice to use a white backdrop - which has the same colour as the edge itself. I think it would be more authentic if you'd have used the colour of the outer frame...
Just my 2 cents, of course.
TFS

Hi Els,
Superb aging effect complimented by a creative border. The scene is well composed too with the canal creating a nice lead-in and appealing repeating lateral lines of the trees. Excellent work! tfs
Cheers,
Renier

Hi Els
Wonderful postcard with a modern frame. Provides a good example of how far photograph equipment has come in these decades.
