[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Mohn-Arten sind ein-, zwei- oder mehrjährige krautige Pflanzen. Die Pflanzen führen einen weißen oder gelben Milchsaft, der giftige Alkaloide enthält. Die wechselständig, spiralig und in einer basalen Rosette angeordneten Laubblätter sind gestielt bis ungestielt und sind geteilt oder einfach. Nebenblätter fehlen. [1] [2]

Die Blüten stehen einzeln oder in traubenähnlichen zymösen Blütenständen. Die zwittrigen Blüten sind radiärsymmetrisch mit einem doppelten Perianth. Die zwei (selten drei) freien Kelchblätter fallen beim öffnen der Blüte ab. Die Farbe der vier (selten sechs) Kronblätter variiert je nach Art von weiß (= der Echte Schlafmohn, P. somniferum var. medicinalis), hellviolettblau bis leuchtend orangerot. Die vielen (50 bis 100) freien, fertilen Staubblätter werden zentripetal gebildet. Vier bis 24 Fruchtblätter sind zu einem oberständigen Fruchtknoten verwachsen. Es sind gleich viele Narben wie Fruchtblätter vorhanden sie sitzen direkt auf dem Fruchtknoten, es ist also keine Griffel vorhanden. Die Bestäubung erfolgt durch Insekten (Entomophilie).

Witaj Sigried,
Sliczne makro z bardzo ladnymi kolorami,lubie bardzo ten blur w takich fotkach.Ostatnio tez bylem pare sfocic tylko musze wgrac najpierw.
Piekna tonacja swiatla chociaz widze ze slonko nie bylo po Twojej stronie.Ale jak widac i z tym sie uporales swietnie.

I have some of these beauties in my garden; they seem to last only one day, though!
My sister in law sewed the seeds, which were in a dried poppy hub from an old bouquet and there were thousands of lithe plants!
