Are squared patterns maybe due to some sort of net in between you and the bird?

The detail and colours on this bee -eater are stunning.The featheres are so clear.
I like the simplicity of the composition, with the bird sitting on this branch on the diagonal. It really allows for the bird to stand out so well.
