Hugging the coastline is this unspoilt polder landscape, when you lick your lips you can taste the salty air.
I would have loved for the sun to shine on the windmill, however I decided to capture the sunlight reflecting in the ditch, of which there are many in this part of our province North-Holland. The roads here are extremely small and the atmosphere is absolutely peaceful.
.
Setting here was first A-priority F22 - 400 iso and then on manual because I thought the shutterspeed the camera gave me was to fast to let in enough light.
I made good use of my live-view to get a low POV without straining my neck too much.
Hope you can enjoy this view with me.

Thanks for visiting and wish you a good week.

Els

Hi Els

I like the 'Y' shaped waterway & the bg windmill. Tfs!

Bonjour Els
I love your approach to get a splendid view of the polders of your beautiful country, with its small waves on water. Finally, we see one side more rare sight of windmills, more wild. Though composed, with the separation of the two channels that separate and form an angle with the windmill near the centre in perspective. Very nice.
TFS, heartily,
Corinne

Hi Els

Hi Els
The Y for me is the eye catcher in your photo.
The reflection of the sun on water against contrasting colors of the grass, and the perfect sky, makes this a great shot.
Dot

Hallo Els,
Fijn gedaan Els:)

Nice work on this Els! The reflections on the water are so nice, really crisp, nice straight horizon line! Love the wide angle lens on things like this!

Hoi Els,
Adri

Hello My Friend,

I am amazed at how you manage to push back boundaries! This composition is both new and outstanding! I love how the shot has been so neatly divided into thirds, each portion needing careful scrutiny! Then, of course, the ubiquitous windmill takes pride of place and longest concentration.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hallo Els.

I love the low PoV too

Hello Els,I like your composition with the water channels creating some interesting lines, as well as catching the light.
The windmill in silhouette placed just off centre is perfect.
The sky is beautiful and adds to the shot.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Mooie compositie Els.

" more photo info "

Hi Els:

Hi Els
the perspective in this photo is very eye catching, each section divided by the water and each with its own distinct elemnts.
Color and detail well done.
I haven't been able to look much and likely not back again till sept, see you now have a Alpha 350, I picked up the Alpha 200 (for minolta lens I have) and kept my DSCR1, how do you like your camera?

helloEls !

Different and original despite the distance of the windmill. The main interest is indeed this Y shape. I like the graphism in this landscape. Seems it was a windy day looking at the water surface in the ditch.

Well seen and presented!
Robert

hello Els,

if not for the buildings and windmill the view are just like some part of Sabah with the Y shape waterway.. but of course the water runs in ours not as clean look as yours, Els..

a very lovely capture of the polder landscape. to smell the fresh air err grasses is so lovely in a still unspoil place.. wonderful note too to described it.. tfs..

have a lovely week :)

Hello Els

Charmed with such beauty!
In the two ways that you had in your mind, in working
with the light front and bottom in the mills, it would be
blinding.
Beautiful landscape, pleasant atmosphere, calm place
and the soft colors enchant this whole place.
Congratulations, sensational!!

Composition, composition, composition is the name of this game. All three composition elements are her, foreground, midground and background. Then you add color, clarity, POV, DOF, rule of thirds and this image is spelled quality.

Dan

Hoi Els
Excellent perspective and composition.
Lovely atmosphere here and beautiful colours.

I like the geometric plans alternating with blue and green colors. There is very nice gleams on the water and you captured them very well. The windmill and houses at the horizon seem to be an haven of peace where the life must be good!
Bravo! Annie

I really like the Y here Els and how you have used it to portion the image. The blues and greens do indeed make a lovley peaceful feeling and the gleaming water is a good choice for the sun light. Of course I like the windmill in the background. Really well done with good choices for your speed.
Warm Regards
Wanda

Hello Els! Amazing windmill, amazing landscape. Wonderful composition. Ideal POV. Very original work. Good luck!

Hoi Els,

Dennis

Hi Els,
Beautiful tranquil textures and lovely textured lines to the beautiful converging tidal waters of this low marsh.
Beautiful glisting silver blue colors seen glistening in the riffling incoming tide.
Regards, Tom

Great POV Els, great foreground detail using f22 and perfectly exposed.

Regards Mark :)

Hi Elsie,
Beautiful landscape with the oh-so-Dutch windmill and the rivercross, great exposure and late afternoon colors (I guess they are...). Perfect image, both visually and technically. Although sky became a little bit grainy (ISO 400?), but it's a minor problem. Congrats for the capture, and of course, tfs.
Have a nice day, regards from Hungary, László

Hoi Els,
Groeten,
Niek
