In this photo you see a composition-experiment.

In a book concerning composition I read how you can subdivide the picture-framework (canvas) in a coherent whole of parts, according to the Fibonacci range. Photos shown were indeed interesting.

I wondered myself to what extent this artificially can be reached.

Here you see a number of chess pieces which are subdivided in areas according to the Fibonacci range.

Is it indeed "wonderful" ..... or are it just a few stones on a mirror?

(I think I'm gonna re-read that chapter :-)

Ofcourse Wikipedia has a chapter about Fibonacci.

Hi Joop.
Strange but very interesting abstract composition. Gold (yellow) pieces on blue surface offer a cool contrast and a pleasing image . Good exposure and good lighting. For me, just few stones on a mirror... but wonderfull ;-). Great Joop. JYB

very interesting composition. I like what you did. Nicely chosen background which makes the photo even more clear and readable. tfs

Nice composition and good experiment.
Best regards, Bosko.

Hi Joop,

Hi Joop,
Creative experiment for a beautiful result!
I like this composition with the brilliant and contrasted colors!
The dive makes the interest here!
But after looked at the link you included in your note about Fibonacci, I must say that it is very too complicated for me!LOL
Bravo! Annie

A most interesting experiment here - I am not quite sure what you want to accomplish -- is it supposed to be beautiful? To me it is interesting, but just not quite beautiful despite the adherence to precise proportions.
Great posting - very thought provoking
