[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Just a relaxing shot of this fishing vessel, that just returned safely to the harbour.
The nets that cost over 3000 euro's a piece have to be checked and repaired after every trip, because if they don't do that, it will be ruïned within 6 weeks.
So after arrival that could mean that the Saturday morning will be spend working on the boat as well, Then the fishermen return to their families and Sunday evening, late at night they depart again.
For me a relaxing moment, for them hard work here.
To me it seemed almost dark, however the camera can see more then me and most certainly after leaving the shutter open for a few seconds.

In the WS I will upload a WS with a few wedding impressions. The couple was totally happy and the torrential rain only added excitement to the day.
Only problem was me walking with high heels through a muddy meadow to wipe the glasses of my daughter and the lens of the photographer, in the end I gave up for fear of falling flat on my face in the mud.
Of course the couple wearing cowboy boots had to trouble at all...

Any suggestions for improvement on night shots are more then welcome, must say I love making them, but then I have my husband at my side for protection - without him more then half of my pictures would not have been made.

you are right, it is a restful scene. I love the sense of tranquility created by the evenimg blue. Lovely reflections too. it has the feel of an evening on a Greek island.

Els, don't change anything on your night photography; settings are very nice and so was the time of evening to take it, in full blue hour... Just don't trust your light meter... I simply set the aperture, let the camera propose a speed, and then set half the speed. Usually that works out fine.

As for the wedding composition: terrific. I particularly like the happy couple, as that is really what they look like.

Two excellent contributions today... you spoil us.

Hello Els,

Although the men are working hard, a mood of calm prevails.
The boat matches the water perfectly, as if it is part of it! However, the warm lights that shoot across the water, and those sprinkled around, add a lovely reassuring glow.

Een heerlijke plaat om naar te kijken ! Enorm blauw, dat wel, maar dat zal wel zo horen.
Wat een rust ..... zelfs het water is zo goed als glad. Mooi ruisvrij plaatje (dus goed cameraatje). Compo is uiteraard weer goed.

Heel mooi Els en heel raar dat " alles " blauw.
Goed effect van de lichten in het water
( en dat voor een belichtingstijd van 4 sec ! )

Indien je hem zou uitprinten op een maatje groter,
dan zou ik de donker spot in de uiterste rechtse rode streep
over het water - pfff mensen wat een zin -
wegclonen.

Zozo ... dàt doen mensen dus als ze niet in slaap geraken
;-)
