[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I've walked by this tree several times and saw its potential but never got the right light. This summer day I was sitting at home beeing furstrated by the harsh summer light when I noticed that the first rain clouds moved in. I quickly went online to check a weather site for the two hour forecast and noticed that the change in weather was for the better.

When I drove to the Archemerberg I was the first raindrops fall onto my windshield and soon followed by many more. I just hoped that the forecast was right and some gaps would appear in the cloud cover in less than an hour. There was a slight delay in the first break which caused me to walk to this spot through a heavy downpour. But as soon as I got to the tree the rain stopped and the first blue sky and the setting sun started to appear on my left.

Anticipating the change of light I chose a 2 stop ND grad filter and waited for the light to illuminate the oak tree. To my surprise a small rainbow appear on the horizon and in such a location that I could capture it within the composition. A little later the edge of the rainfront came into view and the photo was made.

Prachtig een perfecte foto van de heide met een indrukwekkende bewolking! Mooie compositie met die struik zo in het midden. Echt weer een foto waar ik van leer. Bedankt mijn fotovriend!.

Soms zit het mee en soms zit het tegen... ;-)
als je op deze manier je locatie in de gaten kunt houden is dat geweldig! En in deze periode van het jaar kun je echt de mooiste foto's maken. Het licht wordt steeds mooier, vooral in de ochtend en tegen de avond.
's zomers is het inderdaad een heel ander verhaal! Dan MOET je echt goed opletten wanneer je foto's maakt, zeker op het hoogtepunt van de dag.

Knappe foto hoor! Het licht en de compositie zien er schitterend uit, vooral met die prachtige dreigende lucht.

Hi Niek,

Inderdaad veel beter - hard zomerlicht zou de foto erg vlak maken en oninteressant.
Dat regenboogje mag dan klein zijn, maar mijn aandacht werd er direct door getrokken.
Lekker ook om de verlichte rand van de regenwolken te zien. Prachtig!
