[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A little break from my Travelogue because last week I visited a good friend and we both went on a two day photo shoot in his neck of the woods. That good friend is Hans

Soon after I arrived at the house of Hans, we left for an afternoon tour around the city of Haarlem. Our first stop was at the Stompe Toren, and we both used the beauty of the day and architecture to the fullest. We really were lucky with the weather because it had rained the entire week prior to this day. I can say that I brought good weather with me on this trip.

I had to do some major distortion corrections to this photo because the 10mm side of this lens and my very low POV (below the base of the church) caused the tower to lean back and the horizon to show a heavy dose of pincushion distortion.

Hans, thank you for the two great days and being such a great guide showing my the beauty of your back yard. I really had a great time!

Hi Niek,

Classic composition here Niek - the church is nicely positioned at both 1/3 vertical and horizontal. Good work on the lens distortion correction as I know the 10mm end can be quite interesting.

Hi Niek,
An interesting POV with a nice sky over this marvelous church!
A superb wide angle shot - a good use of the Sigma zoom lense 10 - 20 mm! I just bought one for my Nikon!
Great sharpness and great control in destortion!
Wonderful color tone!
Best regards,

Francis Xavier

Olá Niek,
The low POV was commendable for this beautiful scene. Consently you had obtained a very interesting DOF. Great sharpnees and lighting, makes of this a charming post.
Obrigado,
Raimundo

Hi Niek,
So what's wrong with this picture? Not much I would say, maybe the shadows on the right are a bit dark (short of detail), Nonetheless I like the strong wide angle view, it really enhances the little tower church on the 'terp'. Excellent natural colours. Great post Niek, you are most welcome for an other photo shoot :-)
Hans

Very nice POV, Niek. Well composed picture, nice colors and good sharpness. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

Hi Niek,
The low POV gives a dramatic mood at this photo!
The church stands under this cloudy sky so proudly! However, I am wondering why your polarizer didn't work more strongly, here!
I made a WS for enhancing this mood. Please, don't mind, this is just my personal taste!
Best regards! Annie

Hello Niek,
Beautiful colours and contrasts and clear image. A nice postcard of this castle. Well done.
Best wishes,
Achim
