[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Those that know me, know that I have a hard time photographing people. Don't ask me why, but I just don't feel in capturing a human in my photo. It has probably also to do with the lack of knowledge.

So this one was an easy try. The model wouldn't complain nor move.

I took this photo while Hans and I visted the castle roaming through the beautiful garden. I saw her standing in this beautiful soft light and I had to do something with it.

Hi Niek,
It seems you had a very good practice with the portrait, here! I am in the same case of you, I have not really the skills for human photography! :)
I like much your focus on the head of this statue letting the rest of image in an artistic blur. This emphasizes the details on this lovely angel face. These luminous green colors works so effectively. Bravo! Annie

Statues to me are a challenge I have never been able to beat. I take statues as I take portraits - very conservatively - and they end up looking dull.

You have done this beautifully - an unusual POV, strong composition and just the right focus and depth of field. Even a small area of negative space in front of the statue's gaze.

Nice job!

It's seems we are in the same inspiration !
Very nice control of the light and nice dark background.
Best regards
Jean

Hi Niek. This is important in this kind of shot to find an original POV and not just take a "copy" of what the artist created, and you did it well here. Nice.
