Carnival in Rotterdam
It’s been a while since I visited TL . It’s still a interesting and refreshing site….so here I am again!
This pic was shot during the annual summer carnival in Rotterdam. It is one of the biggest events in Rotterdam which is visited by 900.000 people. It was formerly known as the Carnival of The Antillen and it’s still distinctly South American in style and outlook.
They visitors come to watch a very colourful, groovy and crazy procession consisting of some 80 large flatbed trailers, each with their own power supply and big sound system, supplying the group/organisation to which they belong (in Brazil this would be called a sambaschool) with the South american dance music of their choice.
The girl in the frame is a young dancer of one the countless groups that performs. During a brief period that the huge procession halted, she took the opportunity to adjust her ear protectors. Thru the PP I gave the scene a carnival treatment..

I like this, she seems to be part of the decorations. Like a mural.
Very colourful. The texture in the masks and feathers gives definition. A bit of irritation on the face?
Like the mix of colours and composition. Think there is too much contrast
