Daylight at Lofoten

a foggy morning at Lofoten Islands.. as often.. long the year..
even if.. not in this season.. the summer..
Lofoten is an incredible place.. out of world.. far from everything..
It’s a group of islands.. where seagulls are the lords.. the masters..
where there are only mountains and sea.. mixed in a wonderful way..
in a certain way.. you can well understand here.. how nature clould be wild...
i tried to imagine.. the hard life.. everyday, here..
in the north.. over the polar circle...
in the past.. maybe now.. sure for centuries..
where cold burns your skin.. making your face more hard..
oceans... an even chance.. and light.. your only precious friend..

Perspective of new daylight.. it’s always a benediction...
wherever you be.. light is life!! ;))

here, it's me in a self portrait.. making the actor..
as a fisherman... looking for what it waits him in that new day..
a pile dwelling at Moskenes.. the place where I lived that shining night!
WS1 and WS2 to have a better idea!!

Daylight of Coldplay is my choise!!

Beautiful sp, Marco... Nice angle, always a bit tricky shooting upwards, but you managed very well. The light on your jacket is excellent, and I really like how you managed to capture a bit of your face in the reflection as well.
TFS, & also TFS the bonus shots.

Hi Marco,
Very handsome self portrait. The angle is unusual but it works for you. I don't think it would be as flattering for a woman. I like how you have a look of wonder as you gaze outside the window. Nice soft shadows to compliment the foggy day. I like how the photo is divided with contrasting dark and light background. I like your choice of frame very much too.

ciao, Lisa

Boa noite Marco

Original take and beautiful concept for giving news.
Love your note and is great to know you are well . waiting for more photos.

Hi Marco,

great choice of perspective, for a sel-portrait.
Love the light and reflections.

Congratulations,
Romeu

Ciao Marco :o)

As usual another great self-portrait :o) Very creative and original perspective ... you are a nice man in any posture :o) Unfortunately i couldn't dream in your green eyes ... but I like your 'far' thought .... what did you think about really at that moment ... soft colours and light ... I imagine you did a great trip.
Thanks for sharing ...

Hi Marco,
Nice to see you back...from Norway, lucky man!
Excellent counter dive! I like the two opposite lightings in the photo and your interrogative pose ! Nice reflections, too. To be lone in this far space can be an interesting meeting with himself, isn't it?
Bravo! Annie

Unusual but effective point of view, Marco, the angle works well for me. I wasn't too sue about the image being split down the middle as i normally would prefer more space on the left of this image - but that composition has grown on me the more i have looked. nice shot!

What a selfP Marto, i like the "denim point of blue" and the POV is really "something more".
aS i just few minutes after you got this pic, I would have crop more the right side, as kilted already pointed out.
Your expression is effective and so you can also be proud as model...

ciao

Marto

Fabulous presentation Marco.
Great words and visual to go along with it.
Very intense and beautifully photographed!

Ciao Marco.
AND life is FUN...
Well, men needs some fun in life, right ?
Think even in the far North as Lofoten, when the summer is there and daylight is around the clock, life is good.!
Very well captured with this low point.
Ciao ciao from Jan

Ah, Moskenes, the place where the ferry from Bodo arrives and what a landscapes awaits you there. The whole atmopshere on the Lofoten and especially surrounding Moskenes is like a fairy-tale - and the night - well, it is light 24 hours a day.
Lovely selfportrait to mark the occasion, and please, please also upload a bit of the landscape = please?? Oh I see, just have to open your WS!

HI Marco
Looks like you had one of those drab days with a washed out sky, but you made up for it by having a good reflection of yourself.
Good shot. especially upwards self portrait not an easy one.

Your aesthetic sense is remarkable, each time I look at your compostion and each time I am impressed. Beautifull taken shot and a thoughtful note. I really like your own style of presenting music with each shot which really enhances the mood. Well done my friend.

Thanks for sharing this image.

Marco...

Kind of a moody shot with a very unusual angle - contrasts between window, reflection and the dark space behind ....
I like the view in WS1 - it reminds me of some places I've been up north in my youth ....

I can see you !(ou du moins un petit morceau ) Eh eh !
Tu as l'air bien songeur...
En tout cas c'est un autoportrait original, l'angle de la prise de vue me donne l'impression d'être une petite souris qui t'observe de son petit coin. :)

Hello Marco,
I once read a - poignant - novel that started with a Swedish woman staring through the window into a bright midsummer night. OK, I know this is Norway and I understood you did not take this photo at midnight, but I think it has all the power in it to be the start of a breath-taking movie: I feel some expectation here, a kind of waiting for an event that will break the boredom of a long long day in the Great North.
Excellent, suggestive portrait...
My only (small) minus is that your "favorite" frame somehow diminishes the strength of the photo, especially on the left side, where the white tones meet...
TFS & kind regards,
Erik
