This is Esmark Glacier, one of the many glacier in Svalbard. By this time of the year, the ice is melting and the ice plaques on the top of the sea are drifting away. Permafrost phenomena can be found in here and very special polar vegetation growth over the incredibly shot summer season
Even in high summer ;) ice doesn't melt completely making of it an extraorinary scene...
Once uopn an time Svalbard Archipelado was in the same latitude as Danmark. During te eras it went drifting away... today Svalbard is still driting upwars, and it may reach the permanet polar cape at some point in the future...

This is not for our small theme, even if i myself consider it strange nature...

take care everybody,

Stef

Great composition and good light in this shot. I like the long format and the subdued colours you got which represent well the Great North. This is a amazing scenary which you captured really well as I feel I am there with you. Well done!!!

Hi Stefania,
Very nice composition. I like the POV and the DOF.
Great light and colors.
Very good.
Alex

Amazing capture here. The light work is wonderful, so is the composition. Something to look at. Nice

A great landscape and you did well on the exposure given that you had quite a range of light to deal with. I'm shocked when I see our glaciers at just how much they have receeded on a permanent basis - and there are those who would deny the effects of global warming!

Uma composição excelente e o controle de iluminação está fantastico.Parabens.

Cold beauty of the nature!
It's shurely a spectacular move, but slow!

I like the use of the wide angle here to increase the sense of space. I'm not too sure about the darker area in the bottom right corner; a bit distracting. Otherwise, excellent control of the light and great contrast. TFS!

PS: What film are you using?

On plane de bonheur face à cette superbe photographie qui nous donne seulement l’envie de se joindre à ce morceau de terre « ice age ».
Bravo et merci pour le voyage.
Antonio

I don't like the cold too much as my metal pins give me grief. My body is like a bloody barometer! That said I do enjoy looking at the cold with ice and snow in particular, and this image is lovely. Interesting note too.

Burrr, time for a nice hot cup of tea. I'm aching just thinking about it.

Take Care,

Lance

Oh wooow... Stefania, amazing landscape, just take my breath away, excellent composition, perfect shot! Thanks for sharing. :)

Wow! Stef!!!

Ana

Very lovely and colorful image, you have captured a landscape that is very unique in the best possible way. Well done Stef!

Hi Stefania

I like the obvious graphism of white & black here. Would also work well in b&w. Well done!

This huge foreground as you created it with the mountains far away, making a beautiful fresh nature in a wonderful light. Northern country, always nice to see, hope one day to visit:-))

Your great composition, DOF and exposure make this landscape look distantly unreachable, unforgiving and very cold. Nicely done, TFS, Sam

Another interesting and well made compo from Svalbard S. The cropping and pano format is a good disposition of this photo I think.

Hi Stef,
I envy you being able to take those photos. I wish I was there too! But I guess your photos are the next best thing, so keep on posting :)
Well composed and excellent lighting. :)

I prefer the shot in the workshop. The colours are stronger. Very nice work Stef.

WOW you let us show the beauty of Spitsbergen (the first name of Svalbard). Beautiful colours and landscape...thanks Stef ;-)
