[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This shot is taken in Drøbak in Norway. The weather was ominous and I found the perfect place to show it off:)

I like the light surrounding the person and the the oppressive feel of the dark clouds around him.

I would love some constructive criticism regarding sharpening and other technical stuff:)

You were successful in creating an ominous feeling. I think it's good that you found a way leave out other distractions such as a landscape or the sea. Having the person present makes it much stronger. Having the same shot with no person would just be another dark sky. Well done. Reid

Hi Cato, this is an excellent, dramatic, and moody shot. The contrasts and tones in this are wonderful, and you have an excellent balance between the man in the hood and clothes at the bottom and the dark clouds above. Wonderful cropping and framing in a nearly-square shape to create that balance and to allow just the right amount of that metal ramp and railing into the bottom of the shot. Excellent point of view from slightly far away and a bit below the man's level to get a good look at the sky and those formidable but beautiful clouds. Something huge is about to happen, but we can't tell what it is, and we are eager to know. That aspect makes this shot extremely appealling: it has a suspensful and powerful story-telling element. Excellent metering and exposure, nice overall warm gray tones and really good clarity at the bottom third, while there's grain or noise showing in the dark clouds, which I think in some ways adds to the mood (although we could do without it too). Really wonderful shot, TFS!
