At least my photography takes me to places I otherwise would not go… All in search of the perfect POV!

This is a bird eye view of Gauldalen (-dalen = valley), and also one of the best salmon rivers in Norway! The river Gaula produces around 40.000 kilo salmon per year for the lucky ones…

In this image I am trying to combine my former themes of hazy blues and fences… Enjoy!

JUST UPLOADED...
An alternative version to workshop! Don't hesitate to tell me if you find one of them better than the other...

Great landscap, Pablo. I do like the different layers of 'blue' from fore- to background. Hihi, the fence operates as perfect borderline of the green in front to the hazy blues. Well spotted and executed. Fence, tree and the slopes are great guidance lines towards Gaulaelva.
Kjempefin, kjempefin...

Hi Pablo
Beautiful landscape. Good colours . Very nice capture.
Well done. Thanks for sharring.

Kerem

Good composition, Pablo. The tree and the fence are well positioned. Now, I love images with lots of sky, but in this case, because of the glare from the sun at the top, I would have cropped a teeny bit. Minor complain on an otherwise great landscape shot!

Hello Pablo,
Excellent landscape view!
Tonal combination is very interesting. The "excessive" composition with that super wide sky gives an impressive notion of depth in the view. Efficient POV.

Hi Pablo,
This is really nice. I would have gone much closer to the fence and cut off some o fthe sky which is tad over-exposed. I think I am nit-picking now, this is a great photo.

Hi, Pablo!
It is interesting, that "dolina" in Bulgarian means exactly "valey" like "dalen", "dolu" means "down" looking from a higher point - exactly like your pov:)

I suppose Gaulen means gals=celtic - they have lived from the near East to Ireland, France - and most probably - Norway (you remember our talks about mounds in Europe, which I concider Galic=celtic and, most probably not Norman)

Anyhow, your photo is excellent as always!
TFS

Becareful... because if i visit this place all salmon fishing for me je je. I want fish a salmonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Nice composition in blue blue blue blue.

Hei Pablo,

It is an interesting thought that Anton had about Gauldalen meaning the valley of the Gauls. Mmm the river Gaula runs through Gauldalen and runs out at Gaulosen, so I think that is probably a better explanation. Another could be that gaul I think means a scream (skrik) so maybe it has some thing to do with Edvard Munch. But I am babbling; this is as beautiful a scene as anyone could paint, I have compared it to the workshop posting and both have their merits, however I think this is my preference, and the lonely tree stuck there all alone is the icing on the cake

Hi Pablo,
I like them both! Each has a unique perspective and changes the feel of the photo. That is some beautiful scenery! Great composition and framing. There is alot of UV Haze. Have you ever tried to filter some of this out with filers? I like the mood the haze creates, but I would also love to see clear shot to see more detail. This looks great!
Scott

a very peaceful place, the dominant colors of blue gives the impression of a very quiet and serene place...
very nice composition, i always wanted to capture a photo like this..

a very' flowing' comp and landscape, thanx, M, (*_*)

What a view! I like the fantastic separation between the green and the shades of blue... Maybe too much open at the top... still a great compo!

This is lovely, very peaceful rural setting, with great contrasts, colors and POV. Thanks for sharing,
Fran

Hi Pablo,

What a view! Very nice indeed. I really love the blue tinge here as we look through the valley. I can't really pick one above the other as both have good composition and detail...! OH OK then, I prefer this one as the WS has a little too much grass in the FG for me. You 'made' me choose :)) LOL.

Great shot my friend

John

hi pablo,

what a view. i always wonder why the things in the distance are always blurred and blue for a man's eye. guess i've read it years ago in some book, "explain it to kids" or something.

very nice image!

perfect shot
colours are great.. nice POV
TFS

So that's where my salmon comes from!!!lol!!!
Beautiful landscape, excellent layered composition , with the dominant blue from the sky and the far away mountains. The touch of green in the FG is a pleasant touch. Well balanced lighting and great DOF.
Another excellent shot my friend!

P.S. I'll be back, out of smilies!

Great shot Pablo! Beautiful study of Blue!

Great composition and POV. Good colours, sharpns and DOF.
Well done my friend

Hi Pablo,

A hard choice between the two versions. I love the shades of blue in the original but have a leaning towards the workshop view because it offers more. Wonderful POV, fences, especially falling down ones always fascinate me. TFS,
David
PS Many thanks for your comment on Lonely Kayaker I
Ripples were caused by the kayaker Pablo. I had to wait some 30 minutes after he entered the water and then again after he left for the river to become calm again.

Pablo, stunning landscape you have captured my friend! I love the contrast between the clear, green foreground, and the mountains in the haze, all the way to the horizon. The splitting of these two elements with the fence is just fantastic! I really enjoy your work, and your visions! TFS, Sam :0)

thanks for sharing

Hi Pablo,
I have read the note and I am here because of... workshop version :-) I think I definitely prefer that photo. I like the "original", but it has for me something disturbing - I mean the excess of the sky which is a bit overhelming. I think that cropping out of more than half of the sky would work very well. As of the "workshop":
mmmmmmmmmmmm, a tasty one! Vivid green in the fg, the fence closing nicely the foreground with this single tree on the right, breaking the otherwise a bit dull line, and sooooo tasty background, showing in an discrete way so many things, with many layers giving depth to the photo. I DEFINITELY prefer "workshop" photo - smiley goes to that version! :-) tfs

Marek

Hi Pablo, this is another winner! Superb pov of this landscape and the inclusion of the green fg is an added value!

I like very much the vastness of it.

Take care, Yan :)

P.s. I looked at your ws and it is very nice also, and very different. But I might opt for this blue one ;)

Hi Pablo,

Nice composition. Nice colors. Very nice use of 1/3rd rule. TFS.

Both are beautiful, Pablo, although I would like to see the foreground more in focus in the workshop photo, so I'll go for this one here, with it's stark, minimalistic look.

Hi Pablo, Another Norwegian classic. The blues you have captured here are great to feast our eyes upon. The sky is slightly lighter and more variable than in some other landscapes. Feeling i know a lot more about Norway than some months ago. Murray.

Hello Pablo. Nice shot. I have checked your workshop, to me both versions are excellent. Thanks for sharing!!!!!
