The first snow is a fact in my part of the world!

I’m not too happy for that as I think it happened a few weeks too early this year, last half of November is more like it…

The bad timing is also visible in the trees, as many of them still haven’t thrown the leaves. This is not a good thing since the snow can be a too heavy load and cause some branches to break.

Maybe this image is not the most spectacular… The reason I picked this one is I photographed the location exactly 5 days earlier and posted the autumn version to workshop 1. This fully demonstrates the difference from autumn to winter!

The first snow surprised not only humans! Workshop 2 shows a guy having problems finding food, luckily he is already wearing his thick winter coat…

WS 1: 5 days before…
WS 2: Where is my food?

PS
Why the title?
Well, Magda Indigo beat me to the first snow last year, so this is dedicated to her!

What a difference 5 days make! It's a beautiful scene Pablo. And I love seeing the smattering of snow on the trees. But it is so good to be able to compare the differences the 5 days made. Well done,

Hi Pablo,
Soft whiteness. I like the colour and composition. This winter scene is nice but looking at both the autumn version and the winter one together the sadness is something inevitable feeling. I liked it very much. TFS.

Congratulation Pablo. You Win.!
Its all yours and I hope for many years. lol
Indeed even for Norway, it is too early, but it looks better than a grey sky and lots of rain, which I had the first time I came to Arendal at 17 November 1974. It kept raining till the end of the year.
All the best for the branches,
Jan

but I Love it!! So fresh, and full of promises. It's not a winter atmsophere, it's more!!!

Now I'm not afraid of the predicted(for the next days) first snow here, too. Thanks

Look at this scenery...I love your pp work here Pablo, it makes an already beautiful image even better. Flawless composition as usual. I say that with the highest complements as there are not many whose compositions are always consistently perfect. Well done my friend, and what a tribute to Magda! :-)

Hi Pablo,
it's still a very beautiful photo to look at, the white gives a peaceful feeling.
Very well done
Hichem

Wow Pablo!!! great shot... i like so much the snow... in Mexico is so hard see places like this... congratulations... and thanks for the note... TFS

Hi Pablo,
What a difference the snow can make to a landscape. Such a completely different atmosphere. Both the fall version as the winter version is beautiful. In both the sky is really beautiful, especially the shapes of the clouds in this one. I like the contrast of the brown colored leaves against the almost plack pine trees and the white snow. I really hope we are going to have some snow in a few weeks as well...but as you mentioned not too early.
TFS,
Niek

Here comes the winter again!!!
Great shot. Perfect compo. Beautiful sky and very good colours.
I can feel the cold here.
Regard
Jacobo

Hi Pablo
Gorgeous scenery captured. First winter shot which includes the colors of autumn is amazing. Perfect composition.
Thanks for sharing the first snow shot for this year.
Best Wishes.

Hi Pablo,
unbeleavable, all the autumn-colours have gone!
But I also love it in white and a little blue behind the pretty clouds.
I also like your WS showing the shot with green colours, fantastic.
Thanks and have a nice day

Can't wait to see the first snow... then can't wait to see it go away! A very nice composition, with two nice zones in the wooden area, and beautiful clouds in the sky. Lovely shot, Pablo!

Hi Pablo, yes indeed, winter is too early this year and in this part of the world as well. The weather is so cold that I think that we will have snow early as well.

Nice photo and good comparison with the previous one.

Pablo,
This is really quite lovely. A nice landscaped scene. You make us ready for winter !! We know it's coming yet we try to fight it. Your WS shows us why. TFS Julie

And on the other side of the world we had a heatwave but at least it started raining now.
Strange how the snow can turn an ordinary landscape into a fairytale. I'll have to visit Europe just once in the winter to see the snow.

Hi friend! Magnificent landscape! The perspective and de colours are great! Snow i don't have here .... sniff! Take care Ana:)

So you don't care for all that cold stuff either, Pablo! Great picture that makes you 'feel' the cold here. As in my corner of the world, the cold hit the decidious trees before they had a chance to shed their leaves.
Sometimes, that even happens early in October, so we had a reprieve, of sorts.
Cheers
Otto

Hi Pablo,

It's beautiful! Great colour contrast & POV. The diagonals add impact to the composition eg. the wire fence, the slanting trees etc.
Can't wait to snow here so I can get some great shots too!

Well done & TFS :)
Constantinos

wow what a beautiful picture and such a nice contrast. the trees leaves are still coloured and the thin shred of snow represents the coming and too long winter ( at least for me too long ). the clouds look lovely !

daniel

Your first snow Pablo and here we are supposedly in Spring/Summer and still getting snowfalls, in some areas where snow has not fallen in thirty years. Lovely image with good lines and colours. I like the inclusion of the fences but they would not keep Austalian merino sheep in, too easily jumped. Fine images in the workshops also. TFS,
David

you are right, what a transformation in only few days. autumn leaves of the trees gives us kind of sepia look in this composition. it might not be the most spectacular shot but certainly a good one with good color and details.

Well Pablo !

But the good side about it , is you can take gorgeous winter scenes like this one for the pleasure of the entire community (^_^).

Just love the contrast between near black and white areas of th frame due to the brown color of the few trees in between!

Great image. It's so nice to see any snow, because there's Christmas and wasn't snowing here in Hungary at all 'til now... Great composition and POV. Exactly like a painting osf Shishkin. Congrats and thanx for sharing. And of course, merry X-mas and happy New Year.

Superb winter landscape, the fluffy, cotton-like clouds, those fences, the various trees, black, brown, yellow, snow-covered or not--all are absolutely beautiful. You can feel the immobility and melancholy of winter. Very impressive.
