Yesterday I went to a mountain village to look for some photo opportunities.

I photographed mountains and sky, sheep, landscapes, lakes and people…

This guy I found sitting in front of an old house, a very old house… Enjoy!

dEar Pablo,
Like this man with that great background,Best composition
Thanks

Not always I like B/W pjoto's but sometimes it adds something you cannot achieve with colour.. like this
old house and the man with a face expression as if he
*broods* back to the years that passed.
Great my friend..TFS

Hi Pablo,

Great to see your photos again, after so long. I was away, but now I'm back!

I always had a thing for B&W pics, and if they're taken skillfully, they're really something magnificent. In your photo, I think you managed to capture well the textures of the wood, nice sharpness there.

Hi Pablo,
Great B&W.
Great POV.
Great Composition.
Great work.

Hi Pablo,
Very nice portrait with the great background. I like all these vertical and horizontal lines of this very textured wall and for sure that very beautiful door. And with this man in front it make this house live. Very well done.

Curious visual... Just the head. But i find it good! The house is look of an impressive way made of an impressive texture!

Hello Pablo, very well done on the b/w with nice tones! This is a very nice old house with all the wood work that enhances the image. And the man completes the scene.

May I suggest to correct the vertical perspective though. But unfortunately, by doing so, you would have to crop the nice features of the house.

Very well done! cheers, Yan :)

I like this photo very much Pablo
Black and white photography is always fantastic as your image shows but what I like the most here is how you composed the image with the gentleman in the bottom left side if the photo, it looks great.
Thanks for sharing it ;)

MAGNIFICENT!
The composition is really unusual. I find the curtains, the "black" wood and the open door very interesting. Having the age factor if the guy, my thoughts are all about the ABSENCE of his wife.
Congratulations for a great composition, Pablo!
Garo

Hi Pablo,

Love this capture!! I like the textures on the house and expression on the old man's face. TFS.

Kiran.

Hi Pablo, Unusual to see a B&W from you. Start of a new revolution perhaps. Good composition with the man in thecorner. What i like most is the texture of the wood. Well portrayed. Murray.

Hi Pablo,
There is some quality in this photo that really attracts me to it, but I can't describe what it is! So I will just say that I like this one a lot.

Anything you point your camera at is turning out as a great shot and this is no exception. This time something different from you. B&W is a great choice and the POV fantastic.

Hi Pablo

Missed this one. Good pov & tonal range, with excellent sharpness. I like the placement of the man bottom left corner. The slight oe doesn't bother me. Well done!

Hi Pablo,
I haven't seen you post a b/w before, but with this subject you made the right decision. The building looks really old and I love the details in the woodwork. I am pleasantly surprised to see the position of the man in the photo. It works really well and let people wander through the scenerey.
TFS,
Niek

pablo, this is wonderful shot. i like your B&W choice.

Hi Pablo - Even if you took the man out, the fassade of this old house would still be worth a photograph or two. I find the man in front somehow soothing, don't quite know why. Its age (unknown to the viewer) is emphasized by your BW presentation. I am wondering whether it is so old that its walls tilt all over the place: I am having a problem with horizontals and verticals here. But maybe it's just me. - Cheers, Cordelia :) :)
PS: Thank you again for your thoughtful comment on Provence, 5.

very beautiful photo Pablo, love the old man in the photo.

Although you have clipped some highlights here in the head but overall a good portrait. The black and white treatment is just nice. Sometimes portrait with background elements gives a good story rather than just a full face straight shots. I prefer that you have shoot a little further below the man to include some part of his hands, doing this would also capture more elements of the old house.

Peace !

Hi pablo. Congratulations on finding this house in that mountain village. The texture on the wood really looks very nice. the old man also gave a good contrast on the dark toned wood.

What made stay and scrutinize this nice Black and white photo is the old house. the bas relief at the doorway with the column and dentils above it is Greek and it is applied on a log cabin with horizontal wood siding. Then suddenly there is this vertical wood siding towards the back. This could have been an add-on. And this is Norway? :)

Hello Pablo,
I like this composition, because many reasons: the man in the corner in an unusual place in the image, his age is similar to the house and B&W accentuates this idea.
definitely, a great job, friend
Hernán

pablo,
you have captured the grain in this b/w version very well.the man on the front of the building certainly adds some character to it. a lot of small details to explore in this shot.

I love him and the old house. Very nice shot, and good in bw.

Wide angle are very good documenting tools in photography. He's post very natural... Glad he didn't notice he's in the lens while you captured him. Good mood extract with people + old structure. Impressive classic shot i first saw in your galery. Hope to see more & keep it good work. Congrats!

Hello Pablo
Such an unusual backdrop for a portrait.......but so appealing and "true" by its architecture and old aspect.
Location of character and treatment remind me of Henri Cartier-Bresson photography
who excelled in street scenery.
Best regards.
