It looks like an Icelandic style of architecture as the house is inside the earth with a face constructed by wood. I am sure these houses would use less energy to maintain heat inside.

A beautifully composed image in crisp details and fine luminosity. Point of view is exciting. An excellent shot my friend, well done.

Lovely looking very old house.
Good composed picture you took of it.
In Holland also some people having their house with special small plants and grass on the roof.
It must do good for insulation, but not mine idea.
Construction must be stronger and no control whats rotten beneath.
Besides children like to play footbal on your roof, haha

Facinating image - love the windows and their coverings and content/stuff. Does this structure have a sod roof. Many building on the frontier of the US west in the 1800and early 1900's had sod roofs. Amazing how long these structors last.

Simple but very elegant.
I like the colors of the window and the style of the

The streets of Røros are indeed very attractive, but I love to see the roofing and the birch that is attached underneath. When travelling in Norway my eye is drawn to the grasses and flowers growing on those roofs - a lovely sight. Thanks for capturing it.

Lovely colorful architecture, so warm and unusual. The brown wooden walls, the orange windows and door, the white lacy curtains, the roof with grass on it are so picturesque and hospitable.It is incredible that there are people living in houses built in the 18th century.

What makes this interesting at first glance is the grass in the roof which is a bit out of place in modern architecture. Of course after reading your informative notes it all becomes clear.
Good tight framing too ... just focusing on those repeating patterns of the windows with the weathered outer wall of the house. Well composed with fine details. Excellent work! tfs
