I took some time to go through my archive and found this photo from last summer vacation.

This is a photo of the UNESCO World Heritage Site; Røros.

Some information from the UNESCO site:

Date of Inscription: 1980

The history of Røros, which stands in a mountainous setting, is linked to the copper mines: they were developed in the 17th century and exploited for 333 years until 1977. Completely rebuilt after its destruction by Swedish troops in 1679, the city has some 80 wooden houses, most of them standing around courtyards. Many retain their dark pitch-log facades, giving the town a medieval appearance.

Here you see the bell used to gather the miners and in the distance the chuch or “Bergstadens Ziir”

Hi Niek,
It's been for ages, but I hope you're doing well. It's great to see your shots from Norway again!
Wow, this is a fantastic capture of this interesting village, the traditional northern architecture with wooden buildings and grassy roofs look great. Perfect clariy, excellent sharpness and details on the whole shot. Fine composition, original post! TFS!

Hoi Niek,
Mooie plaat joh !
Goede positie gehad om de plaat te schieten, daardoor mooi van compositie geworden. De kleur van de lucht is trouwens ook erg goed.
Een tijd niet gezien. Meer bezig op trekearth ... of helemaal niet bezig? ;-)
groeten,
Joop!

Hi Niek,
Very beautiful place so rustic and telling us its history with its wooden stuctures! I even can see the grasses growing on the roofs of the houses.
Excellent composition and format with the vertical lines. I like the patina on the wood. Against the blue sky, the contrast is very beautiful. Bravo! Annie

Hello Niek,

A successful Voyage in time in one single shot. Very pleasant to the eye with the diffrent elements composing this vertical shot. Magazine quality shot.
Well done,

HI NIek
You really captured yesteryears with the logs, stones and the grass on the roofs,
The steeple really contrasting with the rest of the antique look.
This is nice and well done
