Power lines are normally a disturbance in images, unless that is what you photograph..! Power lines.

Looking through my files I find I have several images of power lines as main or only subject.

In Norway all electricity production is hydroelectric, that means production has to take place where the waterfalls are not where the power is in demand. Transfer of electricity is therefore a necessity, often over long distances.

What we see here is the main high voltage supply line to the city of Trondheim, coming in from Western Norway several hundreds of km away.

pablo,
i'd agree with danilo, you indeed make good use of this mundane subject an appealing one.
pov is good and of course the color contrast makes this composition appealing and inclusion of the greenery was a great idea too.

Many times it happened with me when I choose a POV, HT cables became a hinderence. But the picture in view is a beautiful idea by selecting power line as subject. This is interesting.

Deep clear blue sky is is looking magnificient along with well illumined leafs of trees. The image is well dipicting the summer season.

Thanks for sharing this nice image.
I am glad that you generate hydropower electricity because it is the most environment friendly source.

Hi Pablo,
A big no no in nature landscapes, but used very effectively in this shot. The diagonal lines combined with the stunning blue sky and the spring collored leaves make a high impact image.
TFS,
Niek

Good angle. Great blue sky. I thought we had the best blue skies here in the south. Looks like I have been mistaken.

Hi Pablo. You are master of the blue skies! Mostly wires destroy the look of photographs, you have managed to turn them into an effective subject. Good creative work. Greetings from Down Under. Murray.

Hey Pablo,
Here in my country, those power lines used to go down when there was ice storms... That was kind of a catastrophe… Have you seen Scottevers7's picture on TN?

I lived this 1999’s great ice storm and I always remember it because, I know it'll happen again. Our local authorities thought about a way to defrost those giants but I have to see if it is effective when the next tempest will happens :-) BTW, it is a very nice and great shot of those fragile giants ;)
Claudine

I like how the lines croos the green trees. I like picture witha diagonla perspective.

Hi Pablo,

That is a very nice one, my friend!! Lovely POV and I like the way you have added the tree in the picture. TFS.

Kiran.

Hola Pablo...normally poer lines...are not my "cup of tea"...but here you manage to get them "living" in harmony with that beautiful nature.
Different...creative POV. Lovely colours.
saludos from Chile, Robert

Hi Pablo, Thats different cake as we say in Holland. Nice contrasting colours of the crispy green trees and silvery power lines against the clear blue sky together in a wonderful frame. Supurb my friend. TFS!
Hans

:) Later...

As promised...

Vibrant colours Pablo. They can be troublesome but when taken or used as a main subject they can also be interesting. Well composed and good detail. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Fashion’

Hi Pablo,

One of the first things I look for in my photos is to clone out power lines... lol...
Nice POV with razor sharp details!

Well done

Hi Pablo,

Indeed, power lines are normally a disturbance in images, but here you took a very lovely and realistic image, splendid through the green trees as frame to the left, also the silver pylone give a nice contrast against the blue sky.

Have a nice weekend,
John.

Amazing clarity and sharpness aided by some strong natural lights. What a magnificent blue sky. Love the angle of capture. Well done.

diagonals..strong tones and an upright image in a landscape format...all make a good study of what is an eyesore on the landscape..in detail it doesnt look so bad..i just cloned these out of a landscape..but we must get our power somehow..not so bad as the big white windmills which are growing everywhere
i worked on a statoil project in 1983..an onshore gas generating station..this could be the result..sorry
cheers
geof

Why do all your photo's are big hits right away .. Simple.. your good! Super again Pablo..super!
A side note.. good critique you did give to that last shot of our new Vandana2923. You went in a few words straight to the core! Have a blessed weekend my friend!

John

Great POV, vivid colors and very good composition, keeping the lines diagonal. Even the simplest subject has its beauty.

A nice low pov looking up, & a superb blue sky, with excellent colour & sharpness. I like the colour combination of yellow green from the tree at left, against the blue as well. Tfs!

Good morning, Dear friend! :):)

Great captured... Nice blue sky!

Hi Pablo, Very well done! I usually don't like power lines at all! But here as the main subject with the good composition and green leaves against blue sky, I must say you reconcile me with the subject.

Very well done! Marie-José

Great job!

Hi Pablo,
I never thought that such a motive could be nice - but it is! So wonderful against the blue sky together with the green leaves, and also very interesting in the forms and lines.

Man V Nature. Good POV and a nice note. I like the fact that all the electricity in Norway is hydroelectric. I always think that we don't use our natural resources enough (wind and wave would be ideal for our little windy isle). There is something strangly attractive about these structures

Pablo, interteresting subject indeed..most of our power locally is from our coal plant down the road..where my husband brings in the coal on his ship..:o)
I like the photo, the bright blue sky and the trees add some color and the lines placed diagonally add some interest..nice shot. TFS

hi Pablo,
nice composition, good image quality.
The unusual POV makes it interesting.
Nice contrast between the structures and the 'clean' blue sky.

Nice note ('the lines themselves are the subject this time' ) cool!

Hello Pablo
In 1998, we had a severe ice storm that destroyed a power line near Montreal
and some people had to wait 1 month for recovery....in winter!
Nice array of vertical and oblique lines.
Well composed picture due to presence of trees.
Best regards.
Robert
Please see my home page on TL

I agree with you they disturb many subject i could do better without and i saw many subject here who would be better. For the technique we can say it's well. It's clear without eclipse effect but i probably have some ill with that kind. Seeing it nature, without shadow effect or sunset to rave on it... I just can say... it's an electric pylone that's all.
A curious photo. You probably want to show the disturbance they have on the nature.
