Today was such a day - I went outside - hunting for nice dragonflies. No thoughts that winter maybe will come soon this year?!?

Hello Pablo.
Looks like a lovely easy ski slope. Had my first skie experience in Noorway (1973/74. Since that time i went for skiing every year, for about 30 years.
Here in Holland it isn't much better this summer, however in August we gave two times a big family party and two times it was excellent weather.
Maybe off to South of Spain by car, comming 29 september.

Excellent contrast. The colours definitely signal the summer but is also disappointing to hear the summer wasn't that good. The view is nice anyway and the blue sky is catchy. Good framing and sharpness in the image. Well done Pablo.

in this, what comes across first is the exposure - it looks just right ! Especially when you look at the snow.. and then the sky.. it's brilliantly handled.
Composition is great too of course :-)

As is usual with your shots, phtotographic quality/standard is very high.

How cool this looks, Pablo. And very 'neat and tidy' too. Fine texture of the thin remainder of the wind-rippled snow field. The (invisible) horizontal line from the single tree on the left to the top of this hill helps structure your image. Well done and TFS! Cordelia :)))

It would seem as though the weather patterns all over the world are screwed up Pablo. Much of Australia is still in drought and the grain crops are estimated to be down a 1/3 on last year. Excellent image, well composed and strong colour. TFS,

bei dem Anblick denk ich gleich an die Berge, in den höheren Lagen liegt wieder Schnee. Du hast recht der Sommer dieses Jahres war nichts gutes und der Herbst auf den ich so gewartet habe ist auch nicht das richtiges, ein fantastisches Bild als andenken an den letzten Winter der bei uns auch nicht richtig da war.
Es ist ein wunderschönes klares Bild das Hoffnung auf den Frühling macht.

Hello Pablo,
Sorry for the despondency I "hear" in your note . . . but this is a nice crisp, clear shot. The ridges created in the snow by the wind pull your eyes to the top of the partially-bare hill. The shadowed side looks much colder than the subject side.

I do hope that weather wise, 2007 will bring you something good. If not, I do hope that 2008 will be a good one, since I am going to visit Norway that summer.
What I really like about this photo, is that the large tree and hill are almost of the same height and are in line of eachother. Both are ofcourse perfectly positioned in your composition. Also love the lines in the snow, drawing the eyes to the two tips.

Hi Pablo,

It is not often I feel I can do a workshop to improve one of your images, but here goes. This image looks underexposed, it is much darker than a bright day in the snow. The reason this happens is because the camera meter does not know it should be that bright and it meters for the same average brightness in an average picture. So in these conditions you should dial in about +1EV to compensate for it. Or you can do it in PP like I have tried in the WS.

Amazing contrast here, and an incredible blue sky... which, with the snow too, contrasts nicely with the brown of the slope. A beautiful compo, and amazing saturation, makes it a scene from a movie, Pablo. Really well done. And indeed, a bit more to the south here, it has been a summer to be forgotten about.

We see the blue of the sky on the snow as the atmosphere is some dark Low exposure apparently due the 1/1600 and F8... So it show perhaps most the photograph who is tired of winter then the one who can't wait the light of the spring! That's cool for that! I enjoy the ripple on the snow

Hello Pablo. Sorry about the note, it is well written though. The image is just stunning and breathtaking. The white snow with patches of brown pasture looks amazingly beautiful like a chocolate cone ice cream. The horizon is perfect and the barb fencing sums up the excellent shot.
