[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I’m continuing this small series of images telling the story of Røros today, with the special architecture dating back often two hundred years and more. Today’s image is from a street leading to the church, showing a mix of old buildings and some renovated units.

Making the old timber houses suitable as living quarters is a challenge since the owners are not allowed to do much to the exterior. The houses here are both one and two stories, and another challenge lies in the fact Røros is one of the coldest places in Norway during winter.

------

Røros is a former mining town in Central Norway, located in a mountain area not far from the border to Sweden. The old town has maintained much of its original character, including a street plan dating from the 17th century, and timber houses from the 18th and 19th centuries (1).

Hi, Pablo!

Very cosy winter landscape with colours and frame!

jazmin

Great to see number two Pablo..
I recognise the first black house..
Razor sharp and excellent POV and colouring
Pleasure to see.
Greetings from Montreal

John T

I think you captured well the character of those houses, they look, the timber ones, real original, almost the same look of the old ones here in Quebec:) a clear, colorful, great photo!
Jacline

Hi Pablo: Interesting shot of melting snow in Norway,The crispness of the focus, colour and Diagonal POV in the comp makes this photo very attractive to me........Regards Roman:0)

Such a great capture, as I live in an old village I understand the need to keep things as they were.
You have told the story well, a beautiful photo, sharp with natural colours.
Regards
Gil

Hello Pablo,
You not only show us a nice overview of Norwegian rural architecture, but your photo also reflects the typical atmosphere of late winter: the vivid spring colours that are fighting the last heaps of snow.
This photo "feels" as if I were there...
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

Hi Pablo,
a well balanced and well composed shot.
Nice colours and variety of building texture.
Well done. Best regards, Daniel

Hi Pablo, lovely winter composition with wonderful colorful houses and splendid perspective, very well done, ciao Silvio

Nice work my friend!Greetings.

Hello Pablo,

This scene is quite delightful. I feel as if I am being taken on a tour of historic Norway!
These old wooden houses are so different from the old cottages you would find in Northern England which would most certainly be made of stone.
Is it traditional to paint the window frames red?
Wonderful sharp images with excellent details and colours!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Pablo,

Wonderful visual. Lovely houses and snow is really making the photo rich. TFS.

Hi Pablo..this is a nice shot. Nice contrast between the dark buildings and the rest of the scene. Perfect clarity as usual. Nice job.

Roger

Beautiful houses with nice colors. You picture has great light and the snow is very fun on the picture.
Well done
David

elegant and beautiful houses.Well captured.
The colors have been reproduced nicely.

No doubt they have found something to isolate the houses. We were staying in old rorbuer and they were very warm and cosy - we did not even have to light the fire, but then it was summer.
Pablo, it looks so charming. Wooden/timber houses is not a common sight here in Holland and I love that you show us around in your country.

Thanks

Hi Pablo, lovely bold colours in the houses. A nicely composed imaged with good light and fine detail. Back in Western Australia many old forestry towns have been converted to tourist camps. The houses although differing in shape and styles are all painted dark brown, they were built form jarrah wood and stained with creosote. TFS,
David

Hello again, Pablo!
Here you have the diagonal arrangement in the whole line of the timber houses. As the light shines in the faces of the houses, they look so optimistic despite their are.

Better post new pictures, Pablo; this one is the only I did'nt comment in your gallery!!
Nest time I'll have to give you back points on TE!
You choosed here the appropriate lighting that conveys the impression of a 3D picture because of the shaded sides of houses that cut fine figures despite thier age!
Best regards.

I kept watching this pictures, knowing I liked it but not for what reason. Stangely it reminds me of my childwood, when the world was bright and clean and simple, and people lived in houses like that. What have we earnt?
