Hi Pablo,
First a horse now a man. You are getting really diverse in the last couple of weeks. I love the expersion on the mans face. As if he is in a really deep thought. I also like the faded fence in the back, it leads me in and out of the photo.

this i can relate to..studies of people and the technique of capturing their real self
hpp is i feel a necessary event in b>w to bring out and control tonality and texture..which you seem to be on the right track for..i tried some b>w but wasnt all that fussed about the results
portraits mean eyes...usually..and you got both with highlights

Hello Pablo,
An interesting portrait--the dark sweater fades into the background, keeping only face and hand. Intense eyes, and you cropped just right, as a vertical bisector of the frame would pass through one of the eyes. Did you do this instinctively? Many of the "old masters" did, as I read in Math and the Mona Lisa, written by a former professor of mine. Also, I see this gentleman is presenting his left cheek, which would indicate that he is (subconsciously) trying to give an endearing look, a theory also covered in the same book.
