[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Andenes' claim to fame nowadays must be that it is the departure port for the whale safari.
However already since the Iron Age it was an important fishing village and in the early 1900s it was one of the largest fishing ports in Norway.
.
Against the side of this factory, just accross the street from the whale safari research centre, there was a constant noise of seagulls, fighting and attracting the attention of their mates who brought back a nice meal of fish - easy pickings in this port.
.
If my information is correct the female stays on the nest and the male provides the food during this time.
.
We were checking if we could find the whale centre, but Andenes is a small town and very easy to find your way here (no maps needed)
In autumn, winter and spring you can see the northern lights - aurora borealis. Because of that the municipality calls itself Nordlyskommunen.
And then of course from May 15 untill the end of July you can enjoy 24 hours of daylight as you could see in an earlier posting.

Seagulls, I'm not sure if people in Andenes look at them as a pest or a pleasure... One thing is for sure, they are elegant good looking birds!
This is a fine situation, where the action is well framed!

Het was hier zo lelijk aan het doen dat er water door het plafond van m'n bureau stroomde. Niet drup-drup !
Zit hier nu met een jaap in de bezetting, dus emmers binnen bereik.

Dinsdag is onze kleinzoon geboren (Lesra) alles goed en mij gezondheid gaat ook vooruit, hoop binnekort weer te posten.

Ummmmmm...... hoe weet je nou welke het mannetje en welke het vrouwtje is? Volgens mij wordt hier het mannetje verzorgd, zoals het hoort. :-)
Ik vind het weer heel knap, echt waar ! Erg goed getimed, en prachtig in beeld gebracht zoals het voeden verloopt. Ondanks alle actie toch erg scherp, met lekker veel contrast.

What a wonderfull capture ! Great colors and very nice pov.
Here in İstanbul we also have similar scenery, but mainly on top of the buildings, though you do not have allways the chance to capture them.
