[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Let's do something different. Let's go on a night walk. But be warned it's colder then you think outside - so bundle up real warm and don't forget to take your camera, because we are in the Land of the Midnight Sun.

First I want to thank everyone of you for all the birthday-wishes. How spoiled I feel, and what a great feeling that is. Many, many thanks. Vandana already warned me that she needed tissues, so the Kleenex were close-by all day.....
.
Here we walk in a mystical magical wonderland, surrounded by mountain peaks and a light that is very hard to describe. The sun peeks just over the northern horizon and gives everything a long long shadow. There is another storm coming, but we have at least a half hour left before the rain will start.

When we arrived here 2 days ago the boy in charge of the reception area was very friendly--to his friend at the other side of the cell-phone they had a lot of fun for about 10 minutes. Then he looked at us, we gave him our names, he said hum - used his computer, siad payed half in advance so the rest is to be paid when you leave. Here is a map - here is a key - you're not allowed to park the car near the cabin and you have to cross the gardenpath between that red house and that yellow one. End of conversation.
Outside Ad looked at me and we had to laugh - so I siad you are very welcome - how was your trip - can I be of any assistance??

Do you all like the walk sofar? Oh my, you all are getting a bit cold - well no problem Ad will have warm tea (or coffee for those who have to travel) ready in our cabin - see WS.
In that WS I will also put a picture from me - taken by Ad: description: No Glam - just Gran.
.
In real life it is almost midnight, as it was yesterday evening and since the alarm goes off at 06.15 I better hurry - sleep well - good morning - have a wonderful day. This has been a day to remember that's for sure.

Great trip and of course a great capture - soft texture on the buildings and the rocks. Stunning, congratulations.

Well what a delightful image, wonderful colours and tones with oh so much too look at. Just viewing your image and reading the notes I feel I am wrapped up and looking at the scene for myself. That in my opion is what good photography is my freind. taking the viewer to the scene.

Hoi Els,
Een erg mooie 'avond' foto van een prachtig stukje wereld. Altijd nog de wens om naar Noorwegen te gaan. Je compositie met de rotsen in de FG het laag water in het midden is super. De combinatie van oude en moderne huizen in vershillende kleuren is erg mooi. Jammer dat de lucht toch nog te vel belicht is. Ik weet zeker dat er meer detail in zat. Ik denk dat je wel wat moet doen aan de blauwe vlekken in de fg.

That it experiences, I don't know if would get to sleep on this schedule with this enormous and clear sun of this way. Reading his text, I see how it is different places and change of behavior in everything. But is it worth the landscape, it is not worth? That is wonderful and has a beautiful look!

Very nice landscape shot of Svolvaer with beautiful lake, rocks, buidings, water reflection and nice story, but
I don't really like the overexposed sky.
The partly sky with clouds looks nice though.

this is very good.
It looks like you were shooting into the light - which can be quite tricky - but you managed to have a very decent exposure, show some good details and rich colours.
