Great detail and colouring in this composition Els. I like the colouring of the beak and eye. Very clear. Congratulations! I too am a bit wary of seagulls but they can be photogenic. Check out my dawn shot on the pier of New Brighton (New Zealand), seagulls can occasionally be well behaved as on that occasion. I have also posted on TL a photo of a seagull shaking its head and sending out a spray in doing so. Hope you like them. Your photo is terrific. Congrats.

Goede morgen Els.
After a short sleep, the 'kids' wake me up at 6, (went to bed at 0.1) My eyes opened wide, by seeing this excellent close up of the seagull.
Even Livingstone (Neil Diamond) would have admire this beauty.

Ik heb trouwens uit betrouwbare (Engelse) bron vernomen, dat het originele gedichtje zo gaat:
little birdie fly so high
dropt it's cargo from the sky.
said farmer Brown as he wiped his eye
its a darn good thing my cows can't fly

Je hebt overigens een prachtig portretje gemaakt van deze meeuw. Prachtige glans in zijn oog...
