Guardian Angel

I am the bird that knocks at your window in the morning
and your companion, whom you cannot know,
the blossoms that light up for the blind.

I am the glacier’s crest above the forests, the dazzling one
and the brass voices from cathedral towers.
The thought that suddenly comes over you at midday
and fills you with a singular happiness.

I am one you have loved long ago.
I walk alongside you by day and look intently at you
and put my mouth on your heart
but you don’t know it.

I am your third arm and your second
shadow, the white one,
whom you don’t have the heart for
and who cannot ever forget you.

This picture is a present for ALL those who visited my swimming lesson picture.
A present is even nicer when wrapped in a special way - so I tried to wrap this picture in a bit of PP work. This is more playing with levels and light, but the programms I used to do it are first: turning up the levels in Neat Image/demo-version on purpose and loosing some info from the picture by removing details. Then copying the resulting picture and in JascPaintShop Pro adding extra light from 2 sources I placed on the bottem of the picture.
The light OE'ed the boats, so by copying and pasting the first Neat Image output image I returned those details I loved with the clone stamp in PhotoFiltre.
Maybe this "wrapping" is not everyone's cup of tea, but it's the intention that hopefully counts for something as well.

Hi Els,
This image reminds me of calendar paintings of the fifties. I quite like the result of your PP work, very unusual.
The original in the WS is very nice too.
I posted a WS of my little ballerina to show you her legs in the original shot...you may be surprised.

It looked to me as if you had used PSP's clarify filter, Els. It does about the same as the workflow you used, give it a try. The effect can be seen here and here.
I do like the effect you achieved, it has a very tranquil mood. Compo is quite good too.

Fantastisch dat je zo lekker aan het vogelen bent met "de controls" in de grafische software. Doe ik momenteel ook.
Het resultaat is ..... bijzonder. Volgens mij klopt er geen jota meer van de belichting, maar het geeft een heel bijzonder effect zo. De 2 punten zeker waard !!

Dees is echt heeeel mooi bewerkt Els. WOW.
Prachtig om het zo'n lichte plaat te maken, past helemaal bij de entourage, de sfeer is echt top.
De steiger en het bootje lijken wel geschilderd in de foto...
Mooi resultaat hoor...

Excellent original Els and lovely PP work to produce this effect. I agree with Frank's comment re the clarify tool, I just had a play with your original image using that method. Combining digital imaging programs can be risky beacuse they all save at different compression ratios. Having said all that I do like this image, well composed, lovely colour and fine detail. TFS,

I understand what you have done, but I guess I'm to much of a traditionalist. My vote is for the WS. Like the Composition and the POV, but not the colors.

Normaal zeg je dan ook " had je niet moeten doen ".
Dat verzwijg ik nu liever want dan had ik dit héél mooi resultaat niet gezien !
Ook al heb je lekker gespeeld, je toonwaarden liggen nog steeds gelijk.
