[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This picture was taken with colour, but I converted to black and white as I thought it made a better atmosphere. The image has been cropped, sharpened, and the mid-tone contrast increast. There was a thin rope from the boat to the rocks that I took out with the clone tool, as I thought it might make the picture a tiny bit more magical.

This is an amazing shot. All the elements here create a perfect composition. I love the lone canoe in the lake with the rocks just boardering to the right. Everything is framed really well, and I like the slight haze in the sky. The water falls in the hills really help to bring the background to life. Very nice work.

Hi Kjetil

Kjetil,
WOW!!!
I like this photo for many reasons.
I think I'll list them by points.
1. The V formation in the horizon, gives this great depth.
2. The reflection of the horizon in the water is incredible. I also think the island on the right casts a great shadow that's mimicked very nice by the mountain. (same shape)
3. The layers of mountains here, give this some great texture.
4. The rocks do the same, they are full of detail AND texture.
5. The waterfalls spilling down from the mountains....oohh...it gives this photo that extra umph...it's a bonus.
6. The subject (The boat) isn't an ordinary boat, it has the Nordic Viking look with the bow and stern pointing to the sky, that alone makes this photo special.
7. The decision to turn this into a B&W was a very good one.
I'd give this 50 points if I could.
Very fine work!
Scott

I really like the atmosphere too in B/W Kjetil. I particularly like the way the light seems to fall on the rocks on the left side...
A great one indeed!!

Cheers,
Anneke
