[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We made a day trip to see the coast and in particular the Atlanterhavsvegen. The Atlantic road with the magnificent bridges connecting islands ans skerries. Our first stop was in the small town of Bud. Our next at the Hustadvik bay where we bought fresh fish from the owner of this boat.

I also ventured out the the ocean hoping for some surf to get some slow shutter shots, but although there was more then enough wind, there were no waves to break.

Hi Niek,
Fantastic view in the background, sharp image, great colours. Excellent use of light despite the cloudy weather. The old boat in the front fulfills the composition. Well done, my friend!
TFS.
Best wishes,
Kristof

Greetings Niek,I like your angle for composing this image, your choice of f/14 makes for a sharp detailed image, foreground to background,I wonder if a 200 ISO instead of the 100 setting used would have lightened the image just a tad as there was a nice patch of blue in the sky & the 200 ISO may have brought out the white of the boat a bit more?
Just MHO.

This is a nice souvenier, Niek, and probably representative of Norway. I like the juxtaposition of the mechanical aspects of the boat and the soft curves and textures of nature.

I don't think think this is your best composition, though. I think placing the boat right in front of the hill doesn't work for me. The other nit I have is that I would have liked some more separation between the top of the boat and the bottom of the far shore. I doubt you had a ladder with you to get up 6 or 12 feet though. But maybe you could have developed a diagonal composition with some informal balance. I think a few steps to the left would have allowed you to place the hill in the upper left and the boat in the lower right. It also would have gotten the antenna away from the hill
