Please, accept my apologies for such a long absence. I'm afraid it may happen more and more often in the future.

I actually do not know what this flower is called. They have been growing in my mother's garden for as long as I can remember. When I was a child, it was fun to smell the flower (it has no scent) and get up with brown marks on your nose (it leaves tham, and they are hard to get rid of later).

Hello, Barbara.

I think that this is what they call a "lily" here in Britain. I posted a picture of a lily some time ago and I think the central parts of the flower and the petals look similar.

This picture is lovely, Barbara, with beautiful rich colours and excellent detail. I presume that you took this outdoors in daylight with the camera hand-held, so you have done very well indeed. The lighting is excellent too.

could it be a just an orange lily? i am not sure i love flower photography but with my bad memory of names its often a mystery variaty...haha...but lovely shot with nice light,details and colors, perhaps i would like to see mor ein focus so f8 or 11 would of probably been my preference but its subjective opinions of course, tkae care,

Great capture of the stamen dancing around a stigma just waiting for a bee ;0) nice focus on the organs and the blur makes them pop out even better, colour is nice too...well done .....thanks for sharing..........Roman:0)
