There are tons of those beetles in my garden, and it's really hard not to see them :) Really beautiful animal, but anfortunately it's a pest, what a pitty :(

The Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata, also known as the Colorado beetle, ten-striped spearman, the ten-lined potato beetle) is an important pest of potato crops. It is approximately 10 mm (0.4 inches) long, with a bright yellow/orange body and bold brown stripes across the length of its elytra, and it can easily be confused with its close cousin and look-alike, the false potato beetle. The beetle was described in 1824 by Thomas Say from specimens collected in the Rocky Mountains on buffalo-bur, Solanum rostratum.

I like your shot, it's a nice beetle with the golden/black stripes. I also saw one in the last days, we call it Kartoffelkäfer - Potatoe-beetle. Thanks for sharing, very good sharpness

The beetle is common indeed being a worldwide pest (it's called Doryphore in french). It nevertheless makes a great subject for macro shots and yours is particularly good. The rear half of the abdomen is a bit too dark (in my opinion)but otherwise its a great shot.
