[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Ratusz po raz pierwszy pojawił się w dokumentach w 1310 roku jako Domus consulum. Jego budowę zakończono około 1300 za panowania Wacława II Czeskiego. Początkowo był to jednopiętrowy budynek wzniesiony na planie kwadratu, który rozrastał się stosownie do potrzeb bogacącego się miasta. W 1536 roku pożar osłabił konstrukcję tego wspaniałego gmachu. Tak się zaczyna historia jednej z najwspanialszych budowli renesansowej, którą w 1550 zaczął przebudowywać włoski architekt Jan Baptysta Quadro.

Stojąc przed ratuszem, szczególnie po niedawnej renowacji, która miała za zadanie upodobnić budynek do czasów Quadro, człowiek ma uczucie, iż wraca do renesansu. Dodatkowo klimatu temu miejscu nadają kamieniczki, które były wielokrotnie przebudowywane. Pierwsze domy wokół siedziby władz miejskich zwane były domkami budniczymi, a kamienie z nich są dziś eksponatami w piwnicy budynku znajdującego się pod adresem Stary Rynek 1. Ale o konkretach za chwile. Fasada skierowana jest na wschód, ku Warcie. Widzimy tu trójkondygnacyjną, bogato zdobioną loggie, a po każdej ze stron na parterze i pierwszym piętrze stoją kobiece wyobrażenia cnót. Na drugim piętrze bo bokach loggii, jest para postaci ze starożytności: Lukrecja ze sztyletem i Kleopatra z wężem. Na przedniej ścianie są także inskrypcje odnoszące się do wymiaru sprawiedliwości, a nad pierwszym piętrem biegnie pas medalionów z wielkimi postaciami starożytności. Wyżej mamy wizerunki królów Polski. Loggia zakończona jest trzema wieżyczkami, które zasłaniają prawdziwy gmach. Mnie osobiście zaciekawiły tzw. „rzygacze” czyli część rynny o wyglądzie głowy smoka.

City Hall first appeared in documents in 1310 as the Domus consulum. Its construction was completed around 1300 under the reign of Wenceslaus II of Bohemia. Nie moge uwierzyc Januszku, ze taki samojazd pt. Zuk jeszcze jest w naszym kraju w eksploatacji.... stoi tam pod Ratuszem.
Fota bardzo ladna, zywa bo sa ludzie, a najwazniejsze to pokazanie pieknej architektury, ktorej na prozno szukac na amerykanskim kontynecie.

What a great capture of the wonderful building with marvelous architecture! I like the great contrast between the colors of the building and the nice blue sky with little pattern of clouds. The sharpness and POV in the shot, are wonderfully managed. The DOF is kept very well.

A very nice architectural capture taken from a good POV. Very sharp, with good DOF and light management. The man walking in the street is somewhat of a distraction, but I imagine that this is a busy place. TFS
