| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
It is the first photo I've ever shot in my life. I was about five years old and we'have been spending holidays somewehere near Baltic sea. Imagine, little, 5 y.o. child with Nikon camera wchichs weights about one kilo :) Those are my parents of course :)
Interesting thing, I put away photography for twenty years, and had another "first time" about year ago :)
I know, frame is falling to the right, composition sucks, focus is not as good as it could be, but I have decide not to change it during PP :)
PP: scanned on Nikon LS-20 (Coolscan II) from slide, removed dust and scratches, applied levels and saturation to make scanned image looking exactly like its analog source. |

Without frame it would be only next not so special photo with memories... with that white frame and your note it's something more :)
Rozwijaj sie emgiebku :-)
I have forgotten this photo was ever taken. Now I remember - the small kid, so excited about his first shot, bearing with much more than one kilogram of the camera :-) And so much concentrated. This photo was taken actually in Kolobrzeg. tfs!
Hi Marcin,
I really like that you resisted the temptation of lots of post processing...you were right to keep the tilt, composition, saturation, everything looking exactly like the source.
I'm imagining it leveled, cropped and punched up with HDR, and think it would actually lose interest that way. Looking at it now (first I'm amazed you found the photo, second I'm amazed you took a pretty good shot), it makes me wonder in your 5-year-old mind...why so far back? Maybe you wanted to take it all in? Maybe you saw people stand back when they took photos?
It is interesting to compare it with your work now...I wonder if you could find the same spot? An update with your adult family?
