I think there are just two possibilies - you like this idea or you don't :-) I could unplug this cable and have more clear composition. But...

It's a thing that leads outside of this photo - for example - a connection to living world, where electricity is needed. Maybe it's a lamp or CD-player? Even if the wall seems to be empty, somewhere around exists something alive.

I want to quote Sylvie - she expressed so well the idea of this shot:

...in life one may be linked by a simple cable ... even if alone.
Link is everything.

Thanks Sylvie and thanks you all for your opinions!

Talk about negative space. You should add it to the scavenger hunt under the entry negative spcae. This is the perfect candidate. I find these types of composiitns vry difficult. There is really nothing ther to keep you intrested but yet it has a simplicity that can be appealing...I would say, keep experimenting and see where it takes you.

I really like this shot even the socket seems to have a face which looks like the cable may pull him out of the frame any second

Stu

The wall is not that empty. He have texture and a good fading effect about the light. A very clear composition. Almost nothing but i like that!

You're starting to freak me out, seems the last couple of post are really dark or weird :-) Keep experimenting, it's very interesting!

I like the simplicity of this shot, but sometime in simplicity, I find sadness... hope it's not the case here!

Bonsoir Piotr,
Je trouve cette idée fort intéressante mais peut être aurais je mis la prise sur un point fort et le cable électrique dans le coin gauche.
Très bonne idée et belle photo.

JP

I love this shot, Piotr !
You were right not to unplug this cable, in life one may be linked by a simple cable ... even if alone.
Link is everything.
Nice idea and strong composition.
Sylvie

Brilliant. Very simple shot and I think leaving the plug in was a good idea as It promotes imagination. Very nice

O to chodzi!

Najprostsze zdjęcia bywają najciekawsze. I tak jest w tym przypadku. Mnogość interpretacji nadaje temj fotce znaczenia.

Very cool. I like the interplay between light and dark here. Nice diagonal elements.

I like it as it is, but for fun (and for my love of b/w) I tried a WS. Cheers!

Piotr
I have already look at this photograph it there be a long time but I have nothing write because it me seem too sad. Then this evening I see there much hope in this simple image.
the vacuum of this large wall represents well loneliness. It is a very strong emotion. and the cable represents the link which connects to us with the others and it is the hope.
Pascal
There is an old Indian tradition which says that we all are connected them with the others, with nature, the animals, the ancestors and the men who were not born yet.
so we aren't alone.

While visiting your page, I'm hearing Craig Armstrong's Piano Works. I find your pic suits very well with this kind of sad music.
Thank you.
Stéphane

Rewelacja! Taka prosta rzecz a cieszy! Swietnie zrobione. Proste i jasne! Coz mozna chciec wiecej?

Genialne w swej prostocie. Podoba mi sie efekt sciany jasniejacej w strone kontaktu.
