A quick experiment:
1. Duplicated background layer.
2. Ran infrared filter (from Nik Color Efex Pro) on duplicate layer.
3. Desaturated duplicate layer.
4. Changed layer mode to lighten.
5. Inverted colors of duplicate layer.
6. Flattened image.
I think it gives the castle a sort of dreamlike effect. I don't know why the color remained only in the center, but I like it. I'm posting the original to the workshop so you can compare.
This is Wawel, the castle that according to legend was built by Krakus, right after Krakus killed the evil dragon by feeding it sulfur-stuffed pigs. This is not the gate where I usually enter the castle, but one day while looking for a friend whom I was supposed to meet, I walked all the way around the castle and was struck by this view. |
