Bladder campion
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is a picture of Bladder campion (lat. Silene vulgaris, pol. Lepnica rozdęta) a common plant of dry meadows (this one was growing in very dry meadow's soil of Tuchola Forest), lanes along countryside, walls, cultivated and fallow land, and valley sides. This flower has got lot of nectar and is pollineted by butterflies, especially by moths. The most eye-catching part of the flower is bladder or balloon shaped calyx.
Photo was taken in the middle of Tuchola Forest in Hemlet Male.

I recognize this flower very well from my childhood. We used to make a skirt of the "bladder" just for fun. Thanks for reminding me of this very pale but very special little flower. It wakes up so many childhood memories for me. I can hear the cackle of the hens and the cock-a-doodle-doo from the cocks. Flora and fauna is one of my big interests.
About the photo, very fine details. Thanks to the softed background and the black passepartout, the flower is more visible and impressing in all its tiny-ness!

Hello Agnieszka
This photo is a very nice close-up of the curious flower that grows in Québec too. When I was a kid, we use to make petards with them by pinching the opening and taping the flowerr on the back of our hand. Nice exposition and a good presentation.
Nicely done
Serge
