"The body language - charity"

In above picture I tried to play with the compositon and light. Why did I take empty hand's photo?
In my opinion our hands are always expressive and they seems to be very good objects so that to practise technique of photography.
My title is my understanding of this hand's pose. What does my empty hand mean for you...?
Technical info regarding my photo:
- medium B&W
- taken with tripod
- source light: window
- PS modifications: brightness/contrast, selective colour, cropp, new frame.

Robert,

Awesome subject matter. I think some of the best pictures are the simplest ones. My only gripe is that the b/w seems a bit low in brightness to me. It's too 'muted' for my taste, but that's just me as I believe we all interpret our pictures differently when it comes to b/w.

Another beautiful picture from you, Robert! I might have liked to see the entire hand in the frame (you have cut your thumb a bit) but I like the pose which can mean a lot of different things: begging for charity or offering your hand to help someone in needs. Your work with B&W and the PP treatment is good but still a bit on the dark side (not as bad as the previous one) but at the same time, the darkness can give it a more moody meaning of someone begging for help; not only for charity. Well done and keep experimenting!
