Bom Jesus do Monte close to the city of Braga stands 400 metres above see level, and its well designed, sober neo-cassical lines are universally admired. At the top of stairway, in front of the fine Church of Bom Jesus, are eight imposing statues of people who took part in the condemnation of Jesus, Annas, Caiaphas, Herod and Pilate. The church itself, completed in 1811, is the work of the famous Braga architect Carlos Amarante.

Another beautiful work of Portugal.My wife born in Braga,but is first I see called "Bom Jesus do Monte" I know this plce for "Bom Jesus de Braga",but yoy reazon the righ name is "Bom Jesus do Monte".You know better portugal than me.
