[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Coimbra is the city with most academic tradition in Portugal and a visit to the Universidade de Coimbra is a must.

As seat of Portugal's oldest university, Coimbra is mainly enlivened by the students who live and study here, but it is also full of historic monuments and interesting sites, with a busy commerce and the vibrant presence of the Mondego, called the "River of Poets" by the local inhabitants and offering visitors the beauty of its banks besides nurturing the fertile fields of the surrouding valley.

Coimbra grows specially lively in May, when students celebrate the end of the academic year with the "Queima das Fitas" (symbolic burning of the faculty ribbons) and lots of music, drinking and merry-making through the streets.

A superb blue sky with marvellous colour & compostion using the rule of thirds. I like the angled diminishing perspective from right to left. Tfs!

Olá míuda,

Gosto desta perspectiva da bela cidade de Coimbra cheia de encantos em cada esquina.
A definição está excelente e as cores estão fantásticas.Já dominas a máquina ou ainda é tudo em automático. :P

Excellent white and red colors of the buildings contrasted with the strong blues of the water and sky. Nice composition with the horizon moved up give more area to the river. Well done.
