[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken during our trip to Portugal in 1993. A highlight along with Lisbon , Nazare and Porto and several others i omit to mention here , this small town has everything it needs to charm tourists . This is a view from the remparts , a cliché shot i know but i believe not one photo of a particular subject is exactly the same , tones, lights, mood and so on make each view unique . Here is my version of an old print which i worked on a lot . Please allow me to present Obidos to you in these simple words : Obidos is a small town perched on a hill rising out of an agricultural plain , it is one of Portugal's picturesque gems. From its lofty center one gazes upon expanses of vineyards and terracota-roofed homesteads also from the remparts narrow cobbled streets lined typically with whitewashed bougainvillaea-draped houses wind up to the walled interior .BTW. the name Obidos stems from the Latin for citadel. First remarked upon by its beauty by the 13th century Queen Isabel de Aragon Obidos was presented to her as a gift by her romantically inclined husband King Dinis in 1282 and thenceforth it has been offered by princes to their brides .
Thank you for taking the time to review this picture,
Carol

Hola my friend! What a beautiful, colorful picture you paint of this town with your words. Great note!!
Whatever you've done to this shot, it has a great timeless, ageless feel to it - the muted colors, the narrow cobblestone streets, and old buildings ... looks like a place I'd like to explore. Fantastic! So much to see as your eye follows the winding street.
Very nice mon ami.
Trudy
