[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The thing that fascinated me about this butterfly is the way it's holding on to the flower with its upper members. Also, that we can see its little body and the lower members just hanging loose which is why it seems to be holding on really tight.

I cropped quite a bit to have a better view of the action - no other pp'ing on the image.
Shot in my garden under very intense sunshine - so intense that I could barely view the subject while shooting.

Thank you for viewing.

Óla Lurdes,

Wonderful macro capture of the lovely brimstone butterfly with wonderful purple flowers!
I like the great details of the head and thorax parts of the butterfly with wonderful sharpness and from a very well chosen POV. The shallow DOF works very well here. The contrast between the soft lemon-colored hoverfly and the purple-colored flower, is praiseworthy and very well shown.

Very well done!

best regards,
Paras

Ola Lurdes,

Captura Splendid. Um sonho de macro. Excelente cores e detalhes, parabéns.
Uma boa semana,
Adrian

Hello Maria,

Fabulous POV and looks as if you were invisible to the butterfly as you have got so close to to it! I love the rimming light captured coming through the thin delicate translucent wings and that shows your impeccable understanding of light. Com positionally excellent too! Slight highlight clipping of the antennas but it is a difficult situation to get it all right especially with butterflies who rarely stay still.

Using Partial metering and pulling back -0.3EV or -0.7EV, I wonder if you would have minimized this clipping. However that is only my opinion and takes nothing away from this glorious shot that shows us the beauty of the light-and you have captured that!Thank you again for your excellent shot.

Warmest Regards,

Dilshan
