[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the first photo from my Oporto´s journey :)

Um eléctrico (português europeu) ou bonde (português brasileiro) (ou ainda trolley) é o carro eléctrico tradicional em grandes cidades como Basiléia, Zurique, Lisboa, Porto e Rio de Janeiro. O eléctrico faz um percurso tipicamente mas não obrigatoriamente turístico. Movimenta-se sobre carris (trilhos), que em geral encontram-se embutidos nas partes mais antigas das cidades. Destina-se sobretudo ao transporte de passageiros, e constitui um meio de transporte rápido, já que geralmente tem prioridade sobre o restante trânsito.

Os eléctricos foram muito utilizados por toda a Europa, e também pela América, já no século XX. Atualmente (2005), o transporte urbano sobre trilhos, também conhecido por VLT (Veículo Leve sobre Trilhos), uma evolução do bonde, encontra-se em expansão em várias cidades de todo o mundo.

A tram, tramcar, trolley, trolley car, or streetcar is a railborne vehicle, of lighter weight and construction than a train, designed for the transport of passengers (and, very occasionally, freight) within, close to, or between villages, towns and/or cities, on tracks running primarily on streets.

Tramways or street railways were common throughout the industrialized world in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but they disappeared from many U.S. cities in the mid-20th century. In European cities they remained quite common. In recent years, they have made a comeback in many U.S. cities. Many newer light rail systems share features with trams, although a distinction may be drawn between the two, with the term light rail preferred if there is significant off-street running.

We had this kind of tram too, now we have something more modern...i think :)) i walk a lot and use public transportation only if necesary :P

Sim, temos muito em comum com este bonde (no Brasil)
No Rio de janeiro ele funciona a todo vapor!
Aqui em minha cidade, eles são apenas parte de uma
história em museu ou decorando as praças da cidade.
Nenhum mais aqui funciona! Alíás só um funciona, como
parte turistica nos poucos trilhos que sobraram nas ruas antes de vir o asfalto, tambem em pequeno trecho!
Interessante o tratamento que voce deu a ele!

A difficult shot to take with the sky and the right side of the image being washed out. I opened it in Bridge/CS3 and increased the contrast and intensified colours. Also added a sky to it and tidied up the right side background. I selected a grey sky over a blue one. Just an idea.

Very interesting PP work on this photo. The filter you used is so effective! The luminous yellow contrasts well with the gray tones. The washed sky don't bore me. It gives an unreal atmosphere at this tramway which seems arrive from a nowhere.

Belíssima imagem, belíssimas cores!
Um toque nostálgico, me fazendo lembrar da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, de que sou filho, nos tempos em que passeava de bonde.
Pena que atualmente só existe uma linha, que faz o percurso do centro da cidade até o tradicional e belo bairro de Santa Tereza.
