Régua, by the harbour.
The quietness of the night is almost umbeareable.
Hundreds of people are talking behind me, but right now I only have ears for the shimmering moon.
It comes close and tells me about how long ago it met this river.
How it saw the valleys slowly being cut through, the shape of its curves being chosen by no chance, but a strong will to play on the part of the powerfull current.
How the river embraced the mountains, and painted them green with foliage and black with the dark rocks that are abundant.
It tells me about the bitter/sweet flavour of the wine that is born from these grapes, pleasing the sophisticated palate of people all over the world.
Then the moon comes a bit closer, surfing on the almost still water, and very close to me whispers secret tales of what lies underneath the pitch black waters of the golden river, of the words that were once writen on white clouds by the dark powder comming out of the furnaces of the steam trains that defied these slopes.
I close my eyes and wonder at the images it brings to me.
And before it hides again behind the next hill, it kisses me goodnight and wishes that I never dream again.
I understand why, and stay there for a long time with my eyes wide open.

Fantastic. I like the long reflections in the water, the clear sky, the silouette of the mountain and the various lights. A great shot with a nice story. TFS.

Excellent sharpness at 5 second exposure. I love the colors and the moon reflection in the water. A shot you can be proud of.

Deus - where are you - we miss you! A superb photo you have here, and a very nice text (really), romantic. La phot, "un modèle du genre" Its all of a photo. Great. I only see nice things, small details that are fine. It shows that you love your place and country and the good wine. Have a nice week.

Well done, Emanuel. I agree completely with Gabriel, Richard and Marie. In fact, I can only add one thing, and that is the Greek poetical name for the moon : η σελήνη (i selíni). That word invokes the feeling you described in your note. Well done, TFS & TFS². Goes to favourites!

Very nice picture, beautiful. Love the reflection of the moon on the water, superb!
Regards

Emanuel, bela foto. Gosto muito do reflexo na água.

Parabéns.
