| This is based on a large water wheel with buckets or spades, turned by a waterfall, and which then turns a large vertical toothed cog wheel. As this turns it acts on a horizontal toothed cog mounted on the main axle to which is fixed the millstone in its vat. The olives are poured on the millstone, often from the first floor where they are stored, by a wooden chute. Once they have been milled, just like the Animal powered mill, the grignon paste is extracted at the base of the vat. |

Hello Joao
Very nicely done - sharp, well composed and first rate pp to desaturate the background. I have not seen this type of millstone before. Thanks for sharing.
Regards,
Greg
